First, I didn't play in beta so I got online last night for the first time and found some interesting problems.

The geometry seems to be set so that you colide with objects a short distance away from them; if you even get close to a rock or tree or gently sloping hill its like you hit a brick wall. You can't walk down a hill or jump off of a ledge. This reminds me of DAoC in its first few months when you could not walk down steep hills, except here you can't walk down even a slight incline if its not coded in.

After playing a few hours last night, I left the game running and went to watch some TV and fell asleep. This morning the game was still running....so there doesn't seem to be a "no activity" timer that shuts down the game. I'm not sure if thats a good thing or bad.

How do I get rid of this damn skipping female child that is annoying the hell out of me without spending 200gold on her cape!?!

Pre-searing, in 4 hrs of play did not receive one single invite for a group..for a group oriented game, doesn't seem to happen at the low/initial levels. Is there a toggle for "Looking for group"??

So my first impressions are, graphics are par with most mmorpg (better than WoW I think), targeting leaves a bit to be desired, good story line/questing for chr advanement. I enjoyed my time in-game last night and look forward to tonight.

as far as Gwen dont invite her to join you in the first place
buying things for her is wasting your money as she will never be satisfied
presear is meant to be solo with only a couple of items (optional) even needing 2 people (which is maximum party size in the tutorial)

post searing is where people group for missions or exploring

The collision detection is annoying, but you get used to it. Or I did. And varriers are not always marked well enough.

Just click on Gwen to make her stop following you. You do miss out a few 20 hp heals once you have given her a new flute.

You can be pro-active with invites, and ask if anyone will quest with you.

Otherwise, questing is kind of solitary if you are not playing with a friend. The missions are triviel to get invited to parties.
