My two cents / can I share this with developers?

Just a little background on me. I played my friends account of City of Heroes for a few hours, it was cool but not worth purchase price plus monthly fee. Then my friend introduced me to WoW and I WAS HOOKED! I am still playing a level 36 Mage on there.

I just purchased Guild Wars the other day and I am really enjoying it. I must have down something weird because I am a Level 7 and just got past "The Searing". Anyway, below is a list of my thoughts -- Anybody know where we can write the developers to give feedback?

Good:
* Graphics/environments are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Congrats!
* Fun quests that don't seem boring or overdone
* Travel options rock
* Cool variety with two professions

Bad:
* Only 8 skills at a time? I know that is probably for balance but even 10 would have been a lot better. Just my opinion.

* What is up with some of the animations? Some are great and other character animations look like an introduction class for 3D Studio MAX :-)

* Some of the sounds are weak. Sound like stock sounds from an RPG sampler. And even small voice samples on NPCs would add a huge personality to the world.

Ugly:
* Fix the aggro! Why can I walk through some areas and not aggro one mob and then others I get surrounded by all 20 mobs in the whole area.

* You have GOT to have different armor sets or looks for each starting class. It looks absolutely STUPID have 30 starting warriors look EXACTLY the same running around the starting towns is just pathetic.

* What is up with the weak looking spells? Looks like 1st generation 3d effects. Fire storm looks more like a bunch of sparks than actual fireballs. Lightning Bolts look like static electricity. Make LOOK and FEEL powerfull.

Yeah! It is pretty silly to have everyone in a "class" look the same!

Forgot to add to have some sort of visual difference between NPCs and players, like maybe the option to have a tag above their heads. I hate searching for merchants among 40 players in a small area.

I hate to say it... but have it like WoW :-)

Holding down left ctrl will display all player names and the henchmen npcs. Holding down left alt will only display the npc names. Then just click on their displayed name.

Usually, ALL the monsters attack you as soon as you walk in their area. However, to make things less complicated, the Pre-Seared Ascalon denizens do not attack first with the exception of Wolves, Ice Elementals, Bandit Bloodsworns, Black Bears and Undead. This is made so that new players would master the game at their own pace.

There are dyes. Also there are a lot of different sets of armours to find. Just look for them and you'll eventually find them.

I found like 3 or 4 dyes in Pre-Searing but are there are a lot more more armor sets in PRE Searing?

Ive only found 1, but yes there are new sets of armour in Pre Sear. You need to find Collectors outside of town, some of them offer you a piece of armour for 3 or 5 of various items. The armour is always exactly same as your starting armour +2 AC, but does look diffrent. I did all of them and got a full suit of it, made alot of people go ooh and ahh. Once you get to current time, youl have choices of alot of armour to have crafted right from the geto go. 4 sets that I can recall, 2 from one of 2 diffrent armorsmiths in town. then as you adventure you will find even higher sets of armour from diffrent crafters.

No worries friend, there are plenty of looks to go for. And dont forget dyes and of course Guild Cape!! This will make you stand out something vicious.

The gauntlets I got in Lakeshore from the collector had +2 more armor than my starter set, that and you can sell the ones you get from the collector. Dye is interesting.. I am running around in a green starter armor chestplate. Kind of a waste of dye but I needed the slot. Anyways, dye can make a big difference on how something looks.

The amounts of armors and looks in this game is far from alot. (Guess that depends on how you define alot.) Oh my fire armor color is different than yours. Sigh, yeah.. i'm so totally blown away how we NOT look alike. (Sarcasm warning.)

Seriously though, more armors should be added.

I would have to say the main reason why so many starting armours look the same compared to other games is because you have to know how to get armour to change your newb set. In other games you kill monsters and then wow that wolf dropped a nice new robe for me (because thats what wolf carry ... isnt it?).

In attempt of better realism Guild wars doesnt have this feature and i think thats the main factor into why the pre-searing ascalon looks like a lot of clones walking around. If people new about crafters and collectors there would be more variety. But even then the variety is still scarce in pre-Ascalon.

Oh no. 5 different armor sets for 6 classes just isn't enough.

When you start off, yeah, there's limited armor options. But your not supposed to spend 10+ levels in pre-searing. Maybe 4 or 5. 6 if you want to do every quest. THen the farther you progress, the more types of armor are unlocked. By the time you get to Yaks Bend or Lions Arc, you'll see people in the same class and different armors. Between all the classes, there's 30 odd sets, that have different effects, combined with different dyes. You just have to get there.
