As you have noted in recent weeks, the Guild Wars economy has become much more stable. With the release of the Sorrow's Furnace Update on September 7, we will be making a number of important economic and balance changes. Many things will become significantly easier to acquire, including skill points and skills. But the gold cost of learning a skill from a trainer will be somewhat more expensive for most players.

I'd like more of an explanation about the skill points and skills being easier to acquire, not exactly difficult to get at the moment are they ? And why make skills more expensive to buy ? Do they want us to go out and get loads of SoC's or what ?

Ms. Gray, can you comment on if we'll be able to take henchmen into the new EAs?

They could also just come up with new models for existing weapons types... which is probably what they'll have.
Or some mods to bows that are more useful *is holding out for a +5 Energy mod*

I'm assuming as much since he looks like a Mole, the file name is molebrutea.gif, he lives underground, and Guild Wars uses mostly Beastmen (IE: Tengu, Forgotten, Grawl, etc) instead of the traditional Orcs and Goblins for it's humanoid monsters.

I think perhaps some are abusing the ability to change the secondary class in the desert later in the game and it is just another in a long line of their "punish the whole for the acts of a few policy" they are so flagrant with.

Or they can be rebalacing skill accusition so it is one less part getting EXP and one more part paying Gold so that it involves less EXP grind on top of becoming a better moneysink.

Not everyone needs Fissure Armor, not everyone needs Dwarven Ale, or other means of taking the money OUT of the game.

People need skills though.

If anything, this might make getting a solid amount of skills with a single profession switching character easier than it's ever been.

I heard that money will be more abundant and more in quantity now. Also, they are making the skill trainers' skills cost more.. But so what...SF and Grenths Footprint are like FoW and UW? Will you have to pay and will they be places you can travel to by mapping there?

Ease of Accessibility – The journey through Grenth's Footprint and Sorrow's Furnace will not be easy, but entering the area will be! There is no restriction on timing, nor is there a cost to visit the region. Enter if you dare!

Yo money shouldent be more plentiful! I have 354k and i made it fair and square in 200 hrs of playing. No farming, no solo uw monk, just buyin and sellin weapons. I personally was holdin out till there was gonna be more skill points, and i dont care if i waste 354k on skills alone, thats what i saved it for

Care to elaborate on how you think changing secondaries is abusing anything? I'm curious as to why you think this, because I don't see anything abusable about it.

I use it to get around refund points in some cases. Say I need 10 heal, no refund, but got 10 smite. Change to new 2nd class. Move it back to monk. Instant refund.

Of course it does not work if the point you need is in primary atts.

My .02.

I don't think ANet design the switching for that purpose.

Count on the majority of "new" weapons to be the ones that Anet removed after Beta. I'm expecting Shadowblades and Serpentines to make an appearance, along with others.

Sometimes I wonder how all those people selling cash on ebay are able to get so much. I mean, I see like 500k gold auctions just littered all over ebay.

Me too; I have been playing since the game was released, have 4 ascended chars and still would not have broken the 500k mark if it were not for the invinc monk build I was able to run for a while. So I have no clue how anyone can get so much gold that they can spam 200k, 500k and 1000k auctions all over EBay.

No... its called sweat shops that have people farm for pennies/hour and HAVE to make 1000's of gold. Then it get funneled to these sellers and so on. Do a search for sweat shops here. Read about how one guy made so much cash off of star wars galaxies he bought a $1.7million home which has a doorbell that plays the SW theme.

The only problem is that they've already said the new map was "on the eastern slopes of Lornar's Pass," and there is nowhere in Lornar's that's a short distance from Camp Rankor. You have to go through all of Snake Dance as well as Dreadnought's Drift (sp?) to get to Lornar's from Rankor. I've made the trip several times for amusement's sake, since it's more fun than a PUG in UW or Fissure to me, but let me tell you something, it's no short journey! The last thing I'll want to do is have to hike for 2 hours just to get to the new area because I wanted to use henchies instead of a PUG.

In fact, if there isn't some way to get/use a party of 8 with better henchmen than Beacon's except hiking up from Rankor, I probably won't even touch the new EAs, despite that if I don't play them, I'll mostly likely abandon Guild Wars and never look back. I'd venture to say that there are a lot of PvEers who will agree with me on this.

There's a reason PvP is so important to this game. It's PvE content thus far as been incredibly lacking. I sincerely hope Sorrows Furnace eases that problem, and I'm remaining optimistic for the time being.

Would be nice to have a few weapons that DON'T require Marksmanship...

Hopefully they would give us a few skills to go with it or change a few current ones to make them work with the new weapons.

yeah, i want a shepard's staff or whatever, that would be cool for my pvp beastmaster. i also want a max damage bow that gives extra energy, like the non-max damage bow in piken square that gives you +5 energy, that would rock. i would like +10 energy even more, but id be happy with +5. that means id have 37 energy for my pve r/e.

more energy =

oh, and id like to have an insiteful bow grip or something, that way i could upgrade my bow with +5 energy.

I'd like Ranger to have more weapons that key off other attributes, but they should keep with the precedent that non-Mastery Attribute weapons set and operate like a skill on a stick.

If they added melee weapons to ranger attributes, they'd have to add shields linked to ranger attributes. I don't see this happening within even the next expansion.

Shields ought to stay linked to Strength and Tactics. At the very least, not something you could get with any of the current Profession's primary attributes.

it would be very nice if the *skills easier to aquire* means that high level skills you get at the end of the game when you have nothing left to use them on are available much earlier so you can have fun using them instead of waiting to get them

earlier means about 1/2-3/4 through the game not at the start

somewhere else here it says that the skill points themselves will be easier to acquire, but actually buying the skills is more expensive.
