Is this seriously Guild Wars?

I was wondering. I found some screenshots that supossed to be Guild Wars screenshots, but from E3 2003. They have something Guild War-ish, but they look sooooo ugly.

Anyone knows if Guild Wars truly was this ugly when ArenaNet began?
