Wandering my own road.

Somebody explain the point of this spell to me please;
I honestly don't get it.

Pay 5 more for about the same amount of damage as Lightning Strike (barely more, or less, depending on your attribute. At 16 Air, I believe it's 1 less damage than Lightning Strike.), in order to interrupt a foe's attack.

You might halt a 1.75 second attack rate wand hit on the squishy caster you're focusing fire on... um, yay?

With an attack speed buff, sword/axe users are going to be hitting you a little faster than once per second; Assuming under ideal conditions, you could possibly cost them 17% of their DPS. However, unless you're supremely good at timing the spell with their attack swing animation, I'm going to have to say 8% is more reasonable. (Interrupting swings half-way)

As damage mitigation, that's kind of bad. As damaging, why're you hitting a warrior? As a combination, I have to scratch my head.

It's also a projectile, and can therefore be avoided through manual dodging.

Does anybody grab this skill for any other reason besides needing something to cast while Lightning Strike recharges, and why? I'm genuinely curious.

Also, if I misunderstand the way this spell works, I welcome a correction.

The interruption really isn't worth the 5 energy, and most Aeromancers use it as a filler so they can spam more spells with Ele attunement.

yeah that is what i mean, if u are a nuker, u need many skills with low recharge time, or just alot spells, might be good as finishing touch...
Not good as primary choice skill, but as 8 slot filler

The thing is, I didn't want a comment like that.

I already recognized the use of it for the sole purpose of having something to cast when your other skills are recharging in my first post.

I'm wondering what redeeming qualities this skill has INHERENTLY.

Apparently none.

There's a possible argument for using this skill against hammer warriors with predictable attack patterns to break their knockdown chain... erm... I guess.

After the March 3rd (Est time) Update, this skill recieved a major buff. Its DPS out run all ele skills out there, if not counting ice spear. While against high armor target, nothing ele got is better than this.

At long distance, it miss like no tommorow due to the high arch.

The energy, I don't think anyone with a brain have a problem with it.
