petition for removal of thirsty river
ayb
i have had 2 characters stuck on thirsty river for over a month. finding a competent pug for this mission is damn near impossible. i have literally attempted this mission 50 times in the past 2 weeks alone. most of the people that play pve dont know jack sh*t about pvp play, and the people that do are off playing pvp. wtf is so complicated about this damn mission? kill 5 sand giants for +10% morale, kill casters and then pop priest before 2:00, dont attack next priest in multi-team ares until X:45, fight one team at a time. i can spend 10 minutes explaining what to do and when to do it, to bring a res, blah blah blah, and STILL no luck. it's pretty bad when i can get fed up and ask a friend to run me through lornars (3rd and 4th character before the firestorm comes) and get my droknars armor, then continue on with the missions and get to fire island before i can manage to find 5 people with enough brain cells to rub together to do thirsty river. it's almost enough to make me just give up on getting my ele and my ranger ascended. i don't pvp, i don't care about fow/uw, and i have a monk and a warrior to explore the 2 new areas coming out so i don't see it being worth this much stress.

Easy solution: Do that with henches. This is what I do there, where I can't find good group (one thing is that last time I was 14 lvl).
Yes it's annoying when ie: reyna goes somewhere luring another team, but it is still not that hard. The only hard part is the one with 2 teams, as for last you should lure all groups (one after another) to the center as king has some nice firepower

The whole point of thirsty river is to prepare the player for the Tournament battles which is similar to training soldiers to shoot cardboard cutouts, barely a shadow of what they shall really be facing.

that mission is so easy, stop complaining! if you can t beat it with henchies, then you're the one who was the problem in the parties you were in

This mission can be hard and easy at the same time. If your character can: Intterupt, Spit out high damage or drain energy you'll be able to do it with no problem at all.
If not... you're screwed. Henchmen don't have enough firepower to outdamage the two healer setup in the last tier of thirsty river in time. This has nothing to do with playerskill but with the lack in henchmen skillusage. Remember, you've only two minutes until all is fine again. And once the whole bunch gets revived you're guaranteed a failure when you're in at that time. Henchmen + Playercharacter without one of the above mentioned means to stop a double healer setup = loss.

NO, Do Not remove it.

I did read your thread (even though it was a pain), you're implying the mission is difficult with henchies, i used none of the skills you said were necessary, i went in with my W/Mo (no i did not set up the skills to deal a shit load of damage), chose a balanced group of henchies, and beat it on the first try (i had already done it with my previous characters so i knew the mechanics of the mission). A petition to remove this mission is absolutely ridiculous.

and what class is the person that's stuckon thirsty river for a month?
i mean, if both classes are a w/mo...or a mo/w, then maybe you could be stuck

The mission is one of my favorites. Find a good team, if you can't find a good team you should have made more friends along the way perhaps.
a single hint that made it much easier for me. When you take on more than one team, wait until 15 seconds before the resurrection to attack the team initially. This gives you a head start and several of them will die just after the res time. Then, always rush the priest (every person) at 30 seconds before the res time. This should give you plenty of time to kill him. Then after the priest drops rush back out to a safe area where you can pick off those who follow.

I wish Thirsty River was tougher, but alas it is not.
Skill > Time Played, remember? If you don't have the skill, then I guess you will be playing for a while...
Solution - get some skill.

No mission will ever be removed from the game, that much is fairly obvious. Perhaps if one were so difficult that only an elite minority of players or only those with a very specific build could beat it, then they would 'change' it, but to remove one entirely just wouldn't work.
Also, to those of you whining at someone for not being able to complete a mission, please, grow up already. You weren't born elite, and I find it highly unlikely any of you completed the mission on your first try unless the rest of your team knew exactly what to do and had done it before several times, in which case they effectively did all the work for you.
If you truly are so outrageously skilled, and the mission so 'awfully' easy, why not offer to 'help' the OP complete it. Or at least post some sort of strategy besides 'get some skill', which fails to do anything but sound smug, superior and wholly elitist.

no its not that hard I got it done on my second try just cause you suck at games and you are bitter as hell no one should suffer just cause you had a little trouble,

Enough advice and certainly enough ridiculous posts.
