I know, a repost! Someone closed the thread because they got sidetracked. Anyways, original post:

Quote:
These are rampant with adverts for gold weapons, but us little guys who try to sell off components we've found find it next to impossible. See if you can find my SINGLE post in the sell forum (Updated yesterday). I've almagamated all the stuff I'm selling into ONE POST. Rather than spam like hell.

But my idea is simple, split up the trade forums into sections, say:

* Weapons
* Upgrades
* Crafting Components
* Services (poosibly by location)

and/or have seperate listings for gold/rare items and more common items.

Same could go for the buy forum. And possibly pricecheck forums. Rather than closing for reposting, delete the old thread like a proper forum admin and let's get back on topic.

I think the majority of people sell their items in a bulk post. This is for ease of the auctioneer. This way they can keep track on one simple post and update it when necessary.

This is an old topic and we decided to keep it as Etc. (for PC and Services), Buy, and Sell.

Cheers

Remember that 4 hours bump which I didn't realise was only 4 hours? (Unfortunatly I never tend to read rules much). I bumped it because I came back to see if anyone replied and found it on the 5 page down.

The trade forums are impossible. Especially for new sellers who just want to shift small stuff and make a little money, all the Gold item sellers are taking the space and spamming our posts down.

1. Rules are there for you to follow and comply.

That's why there are rules and Moderators to help enforce the rules so the "new sellers" have a equal chance to sell their items.

Cheers!

WTS GW2 items for Zkey

Mo/

Having multiple threads for each item is not only cleaner, but it's much easier for the buyer. It's also easier to find an item you're looking for through the search feature, and if you're skimming down the thread names.

"WTS Gold items"
"WTS Upgrades"
...
:|
If someone was looking for a specific sword or upgrade they'd probably open those up and find it's of no interest to them. That wastes forum bandwidth, image host bandwidth, and their time.

"WTS Gold Max damage Perfect Wingblade 15%>50 Hp+30"
...is much more useful.

Splitting the forum into different catagories of items would also make sense; how many auction sites do you know that DON'T do this?

2. That's why there are rules and Moderators to help enforce the rules so the "new sellers" have a equal chance to sell their items. I don't like disagreeing outright with people, especially moderators, but this is my opinion:
New sellers and sellers of mid/low-level items have hardly any chance to sell their items, and CERTAINLY less chance than those selling popular items. The ludicrous auctions of 50+ items at once, the mass of gold/perfect swords etc seem to always occupy the first page. Sellers who have made posts only a matter of hours ago are pushed down to the 2nd page by people constantly posting (or spamming with useless lower bids) on the high-level item threads.
If you made a thread yesturday you can guarantee it's on at least page 3. Splitting the sell channel into weapon catagories would be most sensible. "upgrades" should probably be catagorised into their corresponding weapon, to avoid confusion.

I mostly sell on these forums, the trading forums are great if u want to sell stuff and cant be bothered to spend time in game trying to sell stuff off for ages and ages. However i also think its quite frustrating when you make a new thread or bump after 24hours and no1 picks up on your thread and it quickly runs down to page 3-4 (which quite honestly no1 bothers to look at imo). I would prefer it to be something like every 6 hours (bumps only), of course this greatens the chance that your post will be spotted by someone who is interested - but it will also make your post run down quicker, Its still equal for all but increases the chances of your post being spotted by someone who is interested, once u get a couple of posts in your thread i notice it gets alot more interest then threads with 0 replies. well thats just my opinion about it.

(offtopic: i also think the game should let u copy ur weapon/item details to clipboard so that u can paste the details in-game for trading or if u plan to sell in forums its alot easier then making 1 big jpg of ur items + easier to search!)

2nd point: Good idea, I think one point is making the forums searchable for itams, and witht he way they are, searching is the only way to find specific stuff rather than browsing the 250 pages generated over the past month.

WTS GW2 items for Zkey

Most people do not include a text-based description of the item whithn their thread, especially on large multi-auctions where there's one massvie JPEG of 50 items. Having one thread per item eliminates this problem.
Alternatively you could add a rule/recommendation to the sticky suggesting that people put key-words in the footnotes of their threads, or even type out the full item descriptions in full.

the fact is lower quality items are not as highly sought after as high-quality ones; thats the games market, the mods cant do anything about it, especialyl since lower-quality is in the abundance.
