Role playing

Hey guys,
Time to tap that vast resource that is GWG.
So recently i have been thinking i really wanna try role play. I have tried asking in towns, both in europe and america....even in int districts ranging from ascalon, to lions arch (that pretty much my fav part...around lions arch). But not a sausage. Not even a sniff of interest. If i am not completly ignored, i get the usual chorus of "n00b" and "go find some other fags to pretend with". Odd comments, especially as its most likely a 15 year old "pretending" to be a 29 year old bronzed adonis wielding an axe of charr slaying.

But anyway....what i was wondering is are there any specific forums/parts of forums or even places IG that i can go and RP with some guys....and girls if they wanted. Or even if anyone here wants to meet up at some point and do it. I am english but stuck on U.S servers, so i am somewhere in the region of 8 hours behind you guys over the pond? Am i just missing prime Role playing time?

I'm not like some hardcore D&D nerd, but i just think it would be cool to role play my char with some dudes. I had one offer once, but since the GUY was playing a GIRL, and he wanted to role play that, i figured he probably had issues i didnt want to address in a game enviroment, especially after certain insinuations within the first 3 minutes of RPing. EEK

Anyways if anyone reads this and would like to hook up send me a message or something otherwise advice would be muchly appreciated

I guess I'm a newb when it comes to this niche of the forum. But what exactly is D&D? And what is Role playing and how is it different from normal PVE?

D&D is Dungeons & Dragons, a roleplaying game that you play by using books (DM guide, players handbook and monster manual)

role playing is just assuming you really are a warrior with a big sword and a nasty attitude, and acting that way .

Like chats with ppl in outposts would go like this: "You dog, you almost got us killed out there! i demand satisfaction!"
*slaps you in the face with a gauntlet*
"A duel it is then!"

I didn't say D&D WAS FOR NERDS ONLY, nor did I insinuate that everyone the plays it is a nerd, merely that I am not a avid D&D player, who lives their life by the D&D code, and is pretty nerdy. Please if I DID say "everyone that plays D&D or even role plays is a nerd" feel free to point it out.

Although judging from you attitude your the kind of MORON that makes GW such a great game to play or have you stopped playing because you cant have a mule?

"Red engine" aww bless such a interesting response, well naprius its been most exciting but i really cant be bothered to dignify you with a response other then what i have written, and as this thread is actually a good way to meet up with other RPers (in principle) i would prefer the mods didnt close it because some muppet has a hard on for picking cyber fights. so have a nice life dude.

Smell it? dude if i am asking for people to RP with, its highly unlikely i am going to insult the very people i am trying to attract with such a post. I am a warrior, i get called N00B all the time, Idiot, they dont know me, why rise to it? they dont know me. I did play D&D i'm not a nerd, lots pf people arent, however lots of people are. Just because you are the same as someone else in one respect doesnt mean you are lumped into EVERY group with them. theres a saying. Be alittle more thoughtfull before you jump down someones throat next time.

I have tried to go to the RP guild websites but they are blocked...does anyone happen to have sites (GW RP related) that arent blocked by the dastardly "WebSense"??

I've been playing GW since May and I've gone to the popular Int district places for RP and last night I meet my first fellow RPer... well I assume he was one as not many people enter a town and say "hello fellow travelers, I have finally arrived at this fair city. This is the farthest I have gotten so far." Funny thing this was only Gates of Kryta. I informed him to direct his steps to Lion's Arch.

otherwise no one is ever around when I go to Int D in search of so RP.

Keep an eye out for members of Wings of Dwayna, we all RP. And just about every Friday there is an RP event in Yak's Intl 1. But sometimes it's a little slow.
