Are you sure??
I mean, MarkyX says it's "way overpowered" without explaining how. Or anything for that matter.
Ought to be enough to get someone over here from ANet to do a little nerfing, doncha think?

Maxiemonster
Seriously, it's not as overpowered as you people think. And at least there's a counter against Smite groups like this..

Nuff said.
Draken
I have a feeling we are going to look back at this skill and go "remmber when you could use it to do..." i wouldnt worry about it too much.

Looks to be improbable to me. With a max 10 seconds of casting time and 20 seconds afterwards of waittime with -10 energy degen. There is no way to maintain all those enchantments without the degen bringing the energy down to 0 within the 20 seconds of downtime. Seems very fishy...........
Draken
your right that was totaly photoshoped.
Tony Blair
One pip of energy regen/degen is .33 energy a second. So 10 pips of energy degen, the max, is the same as losing 3.33 energy a second. Over 20 seconds of downtime he will lose 66.66 energy. He has well over 100 energy. An Ether Renewal will bring him to max in no time, which means he can maintain an unlimited amount of enchantments (in this case 80), since energy degen caps at -10.
P.S. Yes please nerf the skill.

Diversion - If your group doesn't run a mesmer in the first place, well darn, I guess you overlooked the fact every other group runs smiting nowadays, or casters for that matter.
Lingering Curse, Rend Enchantments - A good necromancer, almost never missing from a good group, always runs either one of these skills, either one also makes a smiter effectively useless besides judge's insight.
Backfire - Oh darn, looks like draw conditions does around 140 damage to you now every time you cast it.
Various Mesmer Interrupts - Same description with diversion.
Distracting Shot - Granted not all groups run a ranger.
Signet of Humility - Self Explanatory.
E/Mo smiters revolve around enchantments, ether renewal, and draw conditions. If you run a few simple skills to counter this, smiting should not be a problem for your group, and you have a nice soft target for your killing pleasure.
Mandy Memory
Just because there are a select few counters, that doesnt stop it from being overpowered.
It got a boost before release...and it was overpowered before....Unlimited energy, come on....

The Amazing Krandor
The problem, as evidenced by the screenshot, is not Ether Renewal, but the -10 energy degen cap. That is the aspect of the game that is being abused, not the skill.
