i don't think that anyone is going to post any good farming areas because they think that Anet's gonna take a peek at the boards and say "ooh, here's a good farming spot! let's nerf it!"

...sheesh.

All the best spots have been compromised. I doubt anyone will tell publicly if they still have a good spot.
I'm holding out until the supposed better items at sorrows furnace.

I had to re-read the OP's post....you farm JADES? Dang, i wish i could do that.
My W/Mo can't kill any while solo.

How do you pull that one off?

I farm granite slabs from the hulking stone elementals in Old Ascalon. Spread the word. It's going to be all the rage once it catches on.

LMAO. Actually, they can make a good profit for junior players since they drop a decent amount of dye and charcoal.

Trolls NW of Droknar's give some of the best farmable exp. There are also a ton of trolls/griffons north of camp rankor, if you can get past the initial stone summit. But the best way to farm skill points is to make a new char and ascend.

Guess I still don't get it...

The only farms I've even seen were all pre-searing and all they raised were
worms. Not sure where people get food post-searing but it's not from farms...

I farm mango hydro outside emberlight camp, can farm anything in that area, but killing the hydro then going back out shows the most profits...

Huge swarms of ice imps outside marhan's grotto is pretty good. Anything above level 20 seems to offer the chance at something somebody might want to buy.

The reed stalkers outside temple of ages yield a good amount of plant fibers, scoff if you want but one day 10 sold for 300gp and I had over a thousand from one week. And, linen used to sell for 400gp. Thats 200gp profit from 5 fiber and they drop from 11 to 20. The also drop some nice mesmer weapons and artifacts.

Funny to me, but I found a 29 health sword upgrade outside druids outlook from a level fourteen devourer. I farm out there sometimes, reminds me of the grand canyon. I took my doggy for a walk there.

Incidently, I've found the most unremarkable monster can drop the most amazing loot. Which is why I consider anywhere to be a good place to farm.

Sparks of whatever are really easy. Getting to them is quite a pain, but good loot. Just easier places to find the same stuff.

I've found two vials of black dye from the mango hydro in... I guess 2 weeks. I sold both for 10k. I found a rare hammer that I traded for black dye. That is the reason I farm them and they are my favorite spot.

I admire your post cameela. It has a sort of warmth to it.
Sounds like you have alot of fun in Guild Wars...just what it's all about.

You're right about the unremarkable mobs too. I was slaying (gloriously) the blessed griffons outside rankor and never had a single gold for two days! I went back to the desert griffons (which i left previously because the drops were poor) and i bagged a max gold longbow on my first and only trip.

One time i was just passing through some level 15's while doing an old quest I killed one for the sake of it and bagged a superior energy storage.
So lucky.

I find alot of decent bow string on cheap monsters too. After just a few hours of hunting, i got myself a poisoners string, just as i wanted.

I love how people think they are pulling one over on ANet by not posting their farming locations. I'm pretty sure that all in-game activity is tracked and logged, so if people are visiting one area over and over... they already know all about it. And they already know your build too guys. Now... keeping that information out of the hands of lazy noobs, I'm all for that. But let's not kid ourselves into thinking that we're fooling "The Man" here.

I like to kill things solo for a change. And is was a challenge to find a skill configuration with my Necro(pure Necro, no skills from my secondary) to do so. Now i can go out elona and kill all those lizards, or pairs of hydras. I think its a good way to test and learn the working of skills.

Yes the griffons are nerfed to hell

why i only got a gold shield and 3 purple weopons last night (2bows +hammer) in one run

and about 2k in gold and another 1-2k in materials.

oh and a red dye

im sure there will be countless tales that make that insignificant but i dont call that nerfed.

Outside Riverside Province the tengu drop gold armour quite often.
Loads of the Mo/W go for them as all the tengu are in groups on tengu elites, which are pure melee, so easy smiting fodder.

I find farming the same areas over and over just boring, but some people prefer guild wars money over fun :P

Edit: Riverside not divinity

with the right build, just about anything can be solo farmed, and if you kill enough of anything you will get rares, dyes, etc, so you dont have to ask where the good farming places are, just find a place where you can kill stuff well on your own.

its all down to 2 things

1. luck luck luck, bring a rabbits foot, cross your fingers ect.

sometimes all i get is gold griff wings and minitor horns others i get gold items and purples.

2. quit after your 5th run go and do something else the drops rapidly decreas the more you do the same thing.

I think that if you do 3 runs, quit the game for a day. Then do another run, it will be counted as your 4th still. So what i do is just go to a random mission and join a team for half an hour, good way of helping people as well.

Oh I'm sure they can track traffic flow like that, but I think they start nerfing areas as soon as people start posting how-to's for certain areas with a certain build. The whole idea is that you don't want to let lose that certain classes can farm better than others, and make an unfair advantage.

Also when someone posts a location on a forum a hella lot more people are going to start farming that spot than were before.

There really is no best place to farm. It shifts as do the sands. Luck is a catalyst. Time is another. Fate is the final one.

Hehe, it's funny that they 'allow' players to have an unfair advantage in some respects of gameplay, yet at the same time nerf known farming areas....good times.

If a spot gets posted on the forums then the number of people farming that spot will jump significantly. Anet probably isn't gonna nerf a spot based on just a few people farming there, but will if the numbers get too high. That's why.

You're correct, in that people actualy seem to think Anet is finding out about farming spots from forums, but they're idiots.

We know Anet keeps stats on what people do in game because they've told us they do. Clearly, the way they find out about farming is by looking at those stats.

Lets see, the average game starting from this location has 1 player, who spends 5 minutes before restarting, kills 12 critters (all the same type) and avoids all or most other things.

It is impossible to hide farming from statistical analysis. They have access to everything they would ever need to spot farming, and they probably have it set up automaticaly to pop a red flag whenever certain parameters are crossed.

They just don't need to bother looking at forums, so why would they?
