i need help!

This may sound like a noob question, but I really dont know. Say If I had knights armor and I put a rune of major absorbtion into each piece ...does it work or what? I heard a stranger tell me it doesn't but I dont know if i can trust him. So how does the armor and rune thing work?

One piece of Knight's/Ascalon armor provides UNIVERSAL damage reduction - just wearing the Knight's boots is enough to give you -2 damage everywhere. Same thing with Runes of Absorption, one rune in one piece of armor (it doesn't matter which) will give you reduction everywhere too. Runes of the same type don't stack, and armor with damage reduction doesn't stack. So the best thing to do is have one piece of Knight's/Ascalon and one Rune of Absorption.
