I think your comment is a little rude. Why would I use it just because it's gold? Look at my sword. If you must know, I got the shield from a treasure chest yesterday. I thought it was nice and I plan to fix it up, as Jeff correctly guessed. And besides, is 19% really that much different than 20%? Last night in international dis. 1 Kamadan, Gaile was talking about the new hoh chests, so they will most likely have inscribable items in the chests after this weekend.
...and for those that need proof:
BTW for those wondering, she also said that to her knowledge only Nightfall armor will have insignias, which to me was a big let down but oh well.

I'm personally always dazzled when a req 9 shield with -5 (19%) is considered "imperfect junk". I'm more than happy to equip my characters with +14%>50 or +19% mods and sell the perfects on.

Personally , I dont see the point of using imperfect items , if you cant afford perfect gold ones then just get a collector or a crafter to produce one , theres not point in degrading your character so you have a 'cooler' looking item.

When I started GW I did not care about the 1 or 2 % missing from mods. Now I care for both reasons of having a perfect item to perform better and also for me personally since I like everything perfect. (a personal trait of mine).
People post whatever they want and there is no excuse for anyone to criticize them.

I played with hammers lately and started to really like them so I modded a couple that were in storage.
Goren has the first Tetsubo hammer I found. It came with these mods so I don't care about the extra 1%. And as always everyone's favorite ice hammer And my newest monkey sword, this thing looks amazing when casting.

What you see below is a perfect Shocking Wingblade Sword of Enchanting. Made the way the old crafters in The Underworld intended it. The crafters are no longer there, as they have been killed by the beasts. But this sword has been carefully kept in a chest until now. Notice the glowing glob of Ectoplasm attached to the hilt, giving it enchantments that last 40% longer. Its causes 40% more damage while the wielder is above 50% health. Why are the stats so high? Because of the ecto bonded to the handle. If you notice, all the other wingblade swords have the ecto missing and some of the prongs broken. Usually because of battle, or just plain greedy salvagers. Its hard to find one of these with the ecto still attached in the game.
Also, the handle is wrapped with Bladed Aataxe belly skin, the softest hide in the world. Its difficult to get and very rare. Corinthian leather can't compare.  Two other images... Image 3 Image 4
