I DID IT !

After about 10 attempts last night i final cracked it

OK will it is still fresh in my head here is what happened.............

OK first full HUMAN party NO noobs ! (you dont need x amount of mont and x amount if that)

Catapult 1 Human on each side (who know how to use them !)
then the rest of the party work as a TEAM and stay in the MIDDLE of the fort ready to take the waves on one side at a time ! (if the catapult ppl are doing ther job the waves should be weakend as they come into the fort)

job done ! now onto Ring Of Fire

O also dont bother with bonus it makes it harder

Hope this helps

I did it two days after many failures adn are second monk left when we entered the town. We just had to stick together and rush between gates. And having two trappers really helped so & people all together and only one monk proves it can easily be done. But these guys were the best party i had ever been in. if i can get there names i show them.

good for you!
you know, for me it took my entire guild together ( 4 man strong at that time )
considering i had been trying since my guild mates where doing like frostgate mission and that stuff... i know how you feel...

When I finished it, I was screaming "Yes! yes! yes!" for about 15 minutes, and then got drunk

yeah 2 trappers and good target calling, good healing, i was the only warrior so i found that odd, 1 person was pure interupting and another person was about half interuption. We did very well with pulling groups. Nothing could stop us and none of us died the entire time so we all had morale boosts

I completed it with a group yesterday on my first ever attempt...I can see how it would be difficult with henches, but for a team of people who were happy to listen and communicate with each other it was really easy. No-one died, and to be honest I don't think anyone even went down to half-health all the way through.

I'd read SO much about Thunderhead Keep and how difficult it was supposed to be that I was almost disappointed when we completed it with such ease

Oddly enough, since some of my guildies were having trouble doing it, I tried it with henchies on dialup, just to see if I could develop some solid tips for them. Finished it with henchies, no problem at all. Just moving back and forth between the gates, hitting the catapults when I could, and the rare forray outside the gates. Key was making sure that anytime an enemy got near King Jalis, that I slapped a heal or two on him, and making sure I killed all monks/casters/weaker beings before the bosses.

Guildy and I beat it twice w/ henchies - if you call targets with henchies at least you know they will respond!

get a good hammer warrior to kill jade, ( i have one and i can do 50-60 damage to them)

1 warrior each side
1 monk each side
1 necro
1 ele
extra warrior running between sides
extra monk or ele

good catas and not letting the mursaat pile up will help. but man! i hate the necro boss! hammers really good for interrupting

The trick is not to take any warriors, I find. They always screw missions up because they want to go to the enemy. An all-caster/ranger team can control aggro much better, and can take much better advantage of wards. Oh and they can defend the centre of the courtyard against attacks from both sides without having to physically RUN to both sides, as warriors do.

I did it with henchies also and it’s so much easier than with Pug/s since you get many aggro freaks and other types. Plus the 2 gates throw people off and they think they have to guard each side when you don't have to guard the gates at all. The Jade Armor does 1/3 of the work for me while I watch from top of the fort right next to the King and just wait for them to come to you.

As a healing monk I get really irritated when the warrior runs off out of my heal range. To my stupidity whilst doing this last night I chased him too. Still, we finished it. I never even saw confessor dorian when he arrived, he was already dead. Lame...

Ranged caster/healing balls should work very well for this. I didn't see enemies using many AOE spells at all. Convincing the rest of the red engine community of this may be difficult though. Groups always expect you to have a warrior. I'd also have to change my smite tactics...

Another thing with thunderhead. Devona sux! She can't tank worth a damn and as a hammer warrior doesn't knock down much. I want Stefan back!

It gets straight forward when you have people who know what their doing and regardless of what people say, 2-4 warriors is good along with 2 monks, 2 eles or substitue 1 warrior for a ranger (trapper is good).

Most enemies get killed by catapults, any that run through are taking care of eles that stand at the top and warriors at each door that block the pathway and work as a means of stopping the enemy moving so the eles can pull of their meteor showers.

Luckily when getting 2 chars through that mission I never encountered the mursat monk boss, so that was good considering we rarely had mesmers on the team. Though perfected armour appeared once, took a little while to kill it but not too much trouble.
