Is it lag already?
Anything we can do to help?
Not much fun so I quit playing. Im using win/98 800 p3, worked good on the 28th, hmmmm, please help.
Anyone else experiencing lag?

The fact that you're using Windows 98 is most likely the problem. The game was made to run on Windows XP computers. What version of DirectX are you using? Can you even get DirectX on a 98 computer?

No, lots of people are having this issue tonight. Anet's servers have been having some difficulty handling the massive numbers of players online and severe lag is the result. Not everyone has had an issue though. Perhaps some servers are getting hit harder than others.

For the record, Guild Wars IS designed to work with Win98.

Im using Direct X 9.0c, which is very current, and yes tonight I tried playing again and it worked much better, so lag must be the problem as the beta weekend were all ok.

98 has nothing to do with it. Im running 98se on full settings and it runs without lag. Of course my 98se is running on a AMDXP2100+ not an 800p3 so that might be helping. Oh, and of course you can have DirectX, otherwise 98 would have been abandoned long since, Dx9c.
