try thinking up a build for yourself? anyways i dunno if e/mo can solo uw, since the divine favor bonus monks get is a very important part of the build imo.
Cerra.nova
El/Mo can(Involves Ether Renewal and Prot Spirit), I got the build from someone who posted a thread on this, I suggest using the search function to find it quickly...

Dear me, just a couple days ago I remember joining a PUG for UW, and as an E/Mo smiter, I began to go head to head with aaxtes. What happened next, was totally uncalled for and unexpected. Several of my party members started calling me a "wannabe soloer" and that "Eles can't tank, you noob". apparently, several of them were offended by the fact that i SUPPOSEDLY copied the invinci-monk build for Mo/W. (Keep in mind that two of these people stated that they hated people who copied builds.) wow, and i thought i was one of the very few E/Mo smiters to successfully be able to take on aaxtes, yet there i was getting trash talk.
My point is that it's a shame when the following situation occurs: You're one of the first people to find a set of skills that allows you to solo a difficult area (let's say Sorrow's Furnace in this case.) However, being so proud of your accomplishment, you obviously aren't going to simply post your build online, nor are you going to create a video of it. (Naturally, since you're so proud of your build, you are not likely to reveal it to anyone else.) However, several weeks later, or however long it takes, someone who has also discovered the build, will decide to post the build online. Of course this post will get comments such as "gee thanks, now everyone is going to be using this build you moron." sadly that will eventually become the case. So, the next day you go into a town and get a PUG for SF. The moment you start tanking Stone Summit, people start yelling at you "WANNABE SOLOER!!! NOOB!!!!" etc etc. How would that make you feel if you were one of the first people to discover the build? After all, you didn't copy it, you came up with the build on your own!!!!!
Terrible, some people don't get the credit they deserve...

Ahmen, I get crap like that all the time with my R/W and Mo/E, even after my entire team being killed with me being the one exception they continue to say that I'm a noob and can't tank, and sometimes even blame the fact that they died on me. Oh well, seeing the War/? saying you cant tank fall almost instantly right next to you while you still have nearly full health is worth it I guess

If you are referring to the Dying Nightmares in UW, they use a skill called Rend Enchantments, which has the following skill description:
Target foe loses 2-8 Enchantments. For each Monk Enchantment removed, you take 40 damage.

IPlayGuildWars
in case it seems unclear, the caster takes 40 damage

yeh cheers...rend is easy enough to bypass, let the good times begin
