i loathe WMP (and .wma .. EWWWW!) so although i alredy downloaded it and listened to it, i will probubly be finding some way to encode in MP3 without DRM.

Woot! No more of the same songs playing over Winamp!
...
Of course, this is no substitute for the real Sorrow's Furnace download.

All the music fits so well into the game =) Do you have to put it into some directory for it to play ingame or is this just for listening to outside of the game :/
Szechwan Chi Qin
When I downloaded the Soundtrack, I installed it onto a new directory. Somehow, the game was able to pick up the newer music. I would think it would be the same way with the Minipak when the game update is released. In a sense, the music can be listened to both inside and outside the game.

Jeremy Soule can really make music, some of these songs are cold dark and forboding, very nice.
Favs for now, The foundary and dark forge.

I forgot my password and it says it's sending it to my email, yet I don't see it

Sekkira, it takes a few agonising minutes to get the email to you. I'm guessing there's a lot of demand for it...
As for the music: awesome. In total contrast to the rest of the games rather lacklustre track. Wish i'd known about direct song before I completed the game twice, probably not worth bothering with now...
Good music always adds an air of excitement and tension to any situation.. I just have to promise myself not to burn out on the music before I even play the update

Hey. just a question. once direct song is downloaded, does it mean one will be stuck with the direct song music forever? meaning no way to switch back to the actual Guild Wars music?
It's not that direct song is bad, just hope to have the ability to choose. ^^

You can install them anywhere you wish, Guild Wars will play them just fine. =]

It's a bit of a scam asking for money for in game music I think...what next, purchasable screen shots?
Snowman
so are Arenanet not releasing ANY new music for their two new areas?...
I was going to wait for a while before installing the direct songs music.. dont want to miss out on any new music that Anet would release for the new zones... or am I completly wrong ?

Unless they start limiting the in-game music, forcing us to buy..
The whole idea is to give us players, more choice and I like that.
terrordactyl
Well ok, i have to admit that the free downloadable music is incredibly good...so because of that I retract what I said earlier.

I like the music, it's very good... reminds me of the Daggerfall soundtrack (which is a good thing). Hey terrordactyl, I have a few screenshots of people selling 'GODLY' and 'L33T' weapons in ToA if you want to buy them. 3 for $1!!
----------- EDIT --------------------
Not Daggerfall, I mean Morrowind, and for good reason too. Just looked it up and Soule did the soundtrack for that one as well. That was a great soundtrack, and this sounds awesome too... I may pay for the other pack now

I like the idea of purchasable music. The excellent soundtrack was the main reason why I bought the collector's edition. I would download/buy the "music expansion pack" as well, if it wasn't for the DRM handcuffs attached to it.

... so this music plays in game?.. where can i hear it?
and.. if i didnt download this.. i would be unable to hear it when i am IN sorrows furnace?

When someone breaks the DRM, could you please post the .MP3 or,
perferably .OGG files? Thanks. My primary box is _not_ Windoz,
and thus I can't play DRM burdened sound files. If it is free, why don't
they just make it free?

Do not post such a thing here unless you want to see these forums closed and the staff sued into oblivion.

it has to be said that the minipak music is an awful lot more epic than anything i can remember currantly in game.
tis fantastic!
tis fantastic!
KvanCetre
Currently Listening to "Stone Summit" from the new music. I'd really have to agree with Charcoal Ann.
Venus
I remeber Jeremy Soule's music from the Hordes of the Underdark expansion pack for Neverwinter Nights... It was amazing, I hope this stuff is as good! (Ill download it after work)
stumpy
venus ... I have all the nwn too ... and I agree ... did fantastic then and even better now. Truly remarkable composer. I am listening to it atm at work.
Thy Shadow Wolf
As cool as this music sounds, I can't get the DRM to work for my computer. I tried personal 3 times, and the 2 leases... and every time I select an option I get this.

At the DirectSong homepage, click on the Products link and read the little info blurb regarding Sorrow's Furnace. It's also a good idea to read the FAQ too...

This music is much more involved, and really is 1,000 times better than the current set of default game music...which is boring as hell by the way. This music is much more like the music you heard in the trailers and gameplay movies on the guildwars website, really pretty neat and gives a much better feel to the game.
However, I won't be PAYING for new music in the game, screw that deal.

For the music lovers, 6 dollars for better sampling and a few new tracks was well worth it. Hell, even minimum wage is 6.50 an hour...
Pandora's box
I downloaded the music pack and installed it in my music map. When I open it with Windows media player it sounds ok. But in the game I still hear the old music. Should I copy the music map to a game map or something? (I read above that it installs automaticly into GW, yet I only hear the old music there)
Ashtray_Jesus
It may be good for a computer game music but the tracks all sound the same and definitely wouldn't want to listen to it outside of the game.
