I don't have screenshots, but the Frog definately said:

1) that 1v1 duels would be added in the future.

2) smiting would be nerfed SOON.

The thing about optional new features is that you don't have to participate in them.

1 vs 1 dueling where you can pick your opponent is highly desireable to me, without rewards. I want to be able to get some meaningful feedback and hard numbers, without having to form 2 teams of 4 and going to the team arenas international district.

Plus, it'd be fun setting conditions on a build and challenging your friend to make a more effective duelist under those conditions.

I concur to the negativity of 1 v 1, there would be a bigger spike in egotism. But it would be fun to totally pwn those boastful noobs with their overrated Fiery Swords .

Well, I've heard that you need to finish the Ring of Fire missions in order to do Sorrow's Furnance/Grent-something's Footprint. But I've also seen screenshots of people going from Camp Raknor and ignoring the last missions.

Stance Smiting is already out the window.

1v1 is good option. I would never to it unless to prove to the stupid warrior that his uB3R hAxXX 15-21 sword sucks vs my monk ( non-smiting)

uh, u know one time at the random arenas. you are bound to come across a situation where only 1 ppl is left on each team and they took like ages to kill each other... i got into one with 2 W/Mo's.. both heals and that match can literally drag on.... so for 1v1 I am not too sure it'll actually be interesting or just will be plain boring.

if you make your skill bar for 1v1 instead of complementing (or hoping, in random) another's build, it might go faster.

I feel smiting got pretty well nerfed this update as it is. Zealots Fire went buh bye so no more strong smite builds. I fear if they nerf smiting even more it will be pretty useless. The only two abilities they need to worry about are Balt. Aura and Symbol of Wrath.

monks should go on strike...wow. plenty of people used to be able to solo uw and other hard places. but only monks got blamed...wow. as for the pvp, i must say once again that smites were easy to beat. mesmer.

I forgot to mention this, but the funniest thing the Frog did last night, was to ask everyone to goto the Circle near the weaponsmith and dance.... synchro-dance.

He even counted down for us to synch up!

There must have been 300 people dancing there!

I was there too, but the massive lag caused me to put in /dance * too late

But, the Frog did at least respond to my question: "The armours of the ascended shall be completed, in time. It will take time, for which Those who serve ask patience"

When will the wait end? When can I run around in black 15k Knight's armor and look good but not be as effective or original?

I think you may've misunderstood krank. ATT refund 'points' are gone, you can change your build as much as you like now as long as you're in an outpost or town.

Handy for a monk who likes to switch between various heal smite and prot combos depending on the mission ahead.

Att refunds will not go away. That is on par with removing the attribute points all together. Why tell players that they can only play one certain method, in a game that demands verstility and adaptation for the players? Doing this would only be saying:
"We know this game needs flexability in order to be played successfuly, so we are taking that out in order to throw in a curve of unparalleled monotonous gameplay!"

I think what was said was misunderstood, or was just worded poorly by the frog. I highly doubt they will take out this system.

You are wrong. Attribute Refunds are already GONE! However, there is no limit on moving Attribute Points around, in towns only. So you still have a flexible character, more flexible actually.

I'm not wrong, as that is what I was saying. I was simply replying to the fact that someone said that att. refunds would be gone, and you would be stuck with your skillset. This is of course not what happened, and is what I was trying to say, as I know that taking out refund *costs* would ultimately make it easier to be more flexable.

Clarity to the situation makes everyone happy.

In that regard, you are correct.
