Is the game over when you reach level 20?
alestian
I was just wondering. Is the game pretty much overwith when you reach level 20? Because I'm leveling pretty quickly. I only played a couple of hours today and am already halfway to 20. At this rate, the game will be over by the weekend. So, I was just wondering.

The game STARTS at lvl 20. Lvl 20 has most of the quests and the PvP fun really heats up. Also all expansions add to lvl 20 players.

Bloody Murrey
Do quests provide any rare items or upgraded weapons?
Forefall
There is no "point". You play to the game to have fun doing the missions. You play PvP to have fun competing against other players.
Consider guild wars like a game of street basketball, or whatever else you do. You play to do something fun, and likely prefer something skilled based.

It's not like an MMO where you're trying to get bigger numbers on your character sheet. Instead, it's more like an FPS where the point is to "win". Just like in an FPS, your character (usually) doesn't become stronger. Like an FPS, (usually) as you progress, you gain more weapons (in GW, you gain skills/spells) instead of more damage or more HP. If you play PvP at 20, it's like playing deathmatch. If you play PvE at 20, it's like playing a coop mission in an FPS.

Do I get anything for playing PvP? I notice that I still gain xp.

I think if you win the Tombs PvP, you get some sort of item. And, everyone likes winning.
Furrycat
What is Tombs PvP? I am in some fort thing.

You will still get more skill points to get the new cool skills that you will NEED. each mission will earn you one I belive. Plus the quest/missions are fun and that is way you play games right
azunder
It's arranged team PvP where you play with a party of 8 against (an)other team(s). Usually, you have goals like kill the enemy priests (who resurrects their team every x seconds) or capture the point in the center.
...too much parenthesis there.

joecrab

Thats an EXCELENT comparision!
CoH friends (who i have yet to convert) ask what the point of being able to level so fast is?.. I have been trying to think of a comparison that would put them in the mindset to understand.
Most of those people are die hard FPS fans.. so I will definatly be using this
thanks
The Snowman.
