I don't care if it was last ditch or whatever, I love the new faction system

It has me playing arena like none other. I can play recreationally with the ONE role playing charecter I have finished with and earn skills/crap for other random pvp charecters that I feel like making without having to trudge through the game again. I didn't mind the RPG end of it the first time, but no way am I doing it four more times. Like, it took me forever to unlock a sup vigor rune under the old system, and now I am grabbing skills left and right. I am not powergaming or having it take over my life. Like I probably play 1/2 of an hour a day and it is just great. Anybody else digging the random arena's? (I was always a fan of the randoms because it is just so easy to get started and I can tailor my skillset to myself and whatever build I want to counter.)

Plus, the random arenas are super easy to throttle people in.

Yeah. Arena PvP is great! It's a quick and easy game, with good faction rewards, and is a lot of fun. Going in with just 1 character and getting put in a random group is challenging too.

Tournament play to me is still problematic, not because of the structure, but because of the hardcore PvPers who are hell-bent on getting into HoH, leaders who are so rigid in their team structure, that they're telling other members what skills to bring, and how to set attribute points up, and the generally snooty and superior attitudes in ToPK that almost completely alienate new (and potentially very good) players.

Your approach to designing builds is far too negative. The "hell bent hardcore PvPers" are probably compitant group leaders that are making sure everyone knows what they are doing. If you dont check skills beforehand, youll end up with no hex removal, no spellbreaker, 3 mend ailments, 2 res signets, and a w/mo template sword warrior on your team. The "snooty and superior" attutudes are for one of 2 reasons.

1. You have to sound confident as a leader, if you just let w/e go and dont know much the skills, people asking you if they can switch something out and you just say i dont care. Generally you wont get far with a group leader that doesnt take command.
2. Designing a good build in tombs(especially rank6+ ones) requires a large amount of time and commitment. The leader you are talking to has probably already had to replace 2-3 people in your spot because they dont want to play the build, and is getting annoyed with people not listening.

But anyway, <3 new faction, too bad my computer is in no condition to play GW atm.
