Guild group doing Kessex peak. Made it to Temple of Ages. Updated skills, revamped our henchies (3 live players) and headed out again.
By the second warp my Necro/Ranger Lvl 20 Ascended, was at -28% DP.
No biggie. But when I was raised by our hench monk - my health was showing as 28/28
WTF?
Then (predictably) my DP went to -58% Health 1/1
Then (really predictably) I died again. Hench raised - I got half way up and folded dead. Again Alesia raised - again I crumpled.
My Major Necro runes in my armour meant that my health was below zero to start with. I cannot be resurrected!
Because I am dead I can't strip armour off either.
Its a bug in my opinion because the DP formula should be based on your current max health - not on your unmodified max health. That way you suffer the penalty of DP but you can still crawl through at -60%.
I have never had this problem before - and my armour has not changed in several weeks of constant play. Since the upgrades yesterday - and this being the first time I died on a mission - this has become a problem.
So I can strip my armour down - throw in some vitality runes to balance the -50 health (across 5 armour sections thats a lot of weakness) but why should I have to suffer a penalty to the point where my character setup is UNPLAYABLE due to this game mechanic, where up until yesterday it wasn't a problem (I did most of the desert mission with DP of various levels and even went through a good chunk of Sorrow's and suffered nothing like the current screwing of my max health) My health: 1/0...
I have posted the details to the support page on the GW site - but I dont think my email went through.
I'll try again later. But in the mean time - dont load up on runes with health penalties or you will find your game experience stops pretty darn quickly.
Killed by Resurrection!

I saw this happen to a guy in a PUG that I was in...but it wasn't recent, it was like a good month and a half at least ago. Of course, I don't know the details of why it happened to him, I just know that I saw the same thing, that the monk kept raising him and he kept dying halfway through the standing up animation.

This happened to us last night. We were running Elona and the Monk with us, during one session died like three times getting ressed. I dont know the details of it, as we werew protecting the ghost, so there wasn't much time for chit chat.

your health is actually 1/1 at that point so you need a 100% ress to get alive - ress signet if you do get alive take off your armour for the health boost. This happened to me on my necro (3 superior runes) and alesia's 45% health ress wouldnt work.

It doesn't work with Rebirth or Resurrect, and these two return you with full life. Restore Life returns fallen ally with 25-45% HP, so I can see the problem there, but any other rez that returns with 100% HP should not have this problem, but does.
This probably shouldn't be in this thread either, since even the OP agrees that it is probably a bug.

rebirth and resurect do NOT return you to full health

You certain? If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I thought it was 100%...Well, is it more than 50%?
Would be nice if the skill listings here stated what HP/E those two spells returned at tho...since nothing is noted on each.

If I remember correctly, the only res's that restore you at 100% health are, res sig, vengence, and unyielding aura. Everything else brings you back at x%. That's why I keep yelling at all those people in the random arena to stop using rebirth and resurect unless they're prepared to heal the rest of that health immediately.
As for the OP, what's your hp starting out at before any DP? How many major runes are you using? I still don't understand how people get their hp low enough to have this problem outside the 105/55 monk solo builds. If its a case that you are using runes for each stat so you can change your build around to suit the mission/area, you might want to get some extra armor pieces to switch out instead of keeping them all on you all the time. I have seen that be a problem with some pve characters in the pvp arenas that like to experiment and use different builds.

Why would someone be using more than 1 superior rune in PvE anyway? I only use minors on all my PvE characters (except my monk's farming gear, naturally), and they are effective in what they're doing, aren't dead in one hit, and very rarely see things like 60% DP (which is, IMO, a VERY big plus).
PvP of course is a different issue, but the OP was about PvE.

105/55 Monk Build is why you use 5 sup runes.
Right, Rebirth and Rez bring you back to ~10%-25% HP...should have watched closer when I use that
Would be nice if Anet capped it at a min of 1 HP tho...people will still use the monk build and it is a bug/oversight not being able to rez a fallen ally (IMO).
