During my adventures in the land of Tyria I've come across many players some good and some... not so good... I'm sure all of us did... Some of them say memorable things, and that's the reason for this thread. Now... I've done a search, and haven't found anything like this - that was kind of strange - so this is the thread for that memorable things you've 'heard' or 'said' in game.
Leaving the introduction aside, my quote for yesterday is from a Mo/? by the name of 'I Rune I', and it goes something like "Phoenix is a noob spell". Well I know you can get it early in the game, but this spell is one of the reasons I ascended in about 10 secs (that and meteor, inferno and fireball). That came from a guy who was a smiting monk in a group that needed a healing monk. What's up with smiting primary profession monks anyway??? Primary profession monks should always be healing monks Imo. Otherwise is just a waste of profession attribute(of course, there's the issue of runes...)

I wouldn't say noob, but it's assuredly not an exciting spell. It very rarely leaves the bench for my elementalist. Expensive, slow casting time, very long recharge time. Not to mention the unreliable melee bonus. It's not useless at all, but there are so many sweet skills that would be more useful in your skill bar... A ranged elementalist would pick Fireball instead, and a PBAoE firemancer would probably pick FlameBurst/Inferno.
If monks are the best healers, that doesn't mean they should *always* be healing. Smiting/Healing/Divine (+stance from warr/rang) does work well in PvE. It's not wasting your primary attribute, you're simply getting the aggro and then self-healing and dealing damage in the process. Granted, there are very few primary monks who know how to tank and smite efficiently in a group.

saying that monks should ONLY be healers is a bit silly its like saying that Elementalists should ONLY be fire.

i agree - the smite monk is sooo useful - since nearly every monster / human loves to attack the monk first - why not give them sth to attack? but this time the monk can strike back - ah i love it... anyhow back to op)

yesterday in the deldrimor war camp... someone was yelling "need couple monks" (name wont be told here, but it was one of "those" names...)

i just laughed my ass off - maybe it was the poor grammar... or the fact that he needs a "coule" of monks....... or maybe, and thats just a thought on the side: maybe it was his red, green and blue dyed armor which looked so ridiculous ...
