Can you customize a green weapon?
Jetdoc
I've asked this in a couple of places now and haven't gotten a response...has anyone tried to do this yet?
I know that they cannot be expert salvaged and cannot be modified through upgrades...

I understand that they cannot be modified, but this too is only sketchy hearsay. I'd like it confirmed too. ^^

I'd have tried it on the very first one I found, honestly, but I cant, since I am not there yet. :P

From a logical standpoint, if you can't customize them then they are quite possibly among the worst items in the game. Not so much the staves and such, but the axes, bows, etc... would just be a complete joke.
Would you spend endless hours trying to get that green item just to find out you can't give it an extra 20% damage?

im propably the first one that had the guts to try to salvage one

Did you try to customize it at the weapons dealer, or just modify it with an upgrade?

Dang - do you have the guts to try to CUSTOMIZE it?
Bingley Joe
I do. But you can't customize a focus, so I'm still waiting until I find one that's a weapon. ;P
I assure you that I will customize it 1 second later and post my findings here!

Meh I had the monk staff...but I like using my Henge sword of enchanting + the green protection symbol instead. So...I was faced with the choice of customizing the staff into uselessness or selling it for 60k.
You do the math...

im repeating myself just to make sure everyone gets this right!
You can not salvage green items!!! they give no upgrade parts or materials.
You can not modify green items!!! you can not change their upgrades.
You can customize all green weapons (right hand and two handed) for +20% damage so only one character can use it.
They are basically just collector items with perfect modifications without the ability to change them. Their price and rarity can be compared with collector items prices.
im propably the first one that had the guts to try to salvage one and the pride to cusstomize a complete "set"
edit: modify + customize

No this kinda makes them worse than collector's items if they do not have good mods because you CAN apply item upgrades to collectors items. BUT if you get one that has the mods you want then they are BETTER than collectors items because from what I can tell, they seem to have more "stuff" on them vs a collectors item with 2 item mods. But I may just be imagining that.

All-in-all, not a huge deal.
The +10%/+10% all skill/casting time boosts look awesome though.
I do hate giving up my staff of enchanting, however, and the staves are perfectly balanced in stats and mods compared to PvP and other PvE ones.
Edit;
And seeing as the collector's items tend to be the same as what you get from the PvP chars, the collector's smiting wand probably only has one skill-related mod as well.
