I've noticed that there are relatively few build suggestions for E/Mo's on the forums and this is the character I'm trying to build. I have read a few Pyro-Monk builds but I do not want to build a primarily offensive character. My main mission with this toon is to play support, heals and something else for PvP mainly. My question is, what would be more effective, the disabling effects of Water or the defensive effects of Earth. Either of these would give me enough damage skills should I want to throw one on for a little PvE playing around w/ friends.
Does anyone have any suggestions on which would be more effective(or is this simply bad build and I should stick w/ pyro-monk and nuking) and what would be the best skills for the job.

Hydro-Monk vs. Geo-Monk

If you want to heal, a primary monk would be better, but an ele/mon with earth and protection makes for an excellent protection monk. You could also switch to damage dealing fairly easily with build like that.

i would go geo/monk due to the wards that geomancers get. they're much more useful for support.
as a hydromancer, i really cant think of any skills that would help out your team.
