Ok, I've been watching the forums and hearing the horror stories of all the people leaving from Rankor. I'm going to start of by telling you no. No more Rankor. Granite Citadel is a LOT closer to Grenth AND the War Camp. Pic shows the route from Granite to Grenth. The red represents a long stretch of ground that has no monsters on it. At all. Green dot represents a big group of monsters you SHOULD NOT fight. Blue line represents where you need to keep running.
The strategy for this is:
-Leave Granite and run to where the green dot is.
-Hang a right and keep running
-Enter Grenths Footprint
-takes 30 seconds - 1 minute, not an hour.
Some complications are that the monsters at the green dot my kill you. If they do, you just wasted an entire 30 seconds of your life for nothing. But that hails in comparison to running Snake Dance and dieing before you're within range to spawn near Grenth's Footprint.
Once you're in Grenth's, all you have to do is cross the lumber field, kill about 5 monster groups and you're at the war camp. So, overall it's about a 3 minute run, depending on how fast you load Grenth's Footprint, you fight minimal groups of monsters, and lifes good at the War Camp.
Have fun.
Getting to Grenth with hench...quickly!

awsome thanks, gonna try it with hench later tonight then.

Well not to reply to myself here heh but I took the previous advice, teamed up with hench only and was there within 20 minutes. I fought the groups in my way, even lv'd to get a skill point and ran past those not in my way. Next thing I knew, I was there. What I found weird was when I loaded into the War Camp... my hench were removed from my party. Guess it might be due to the fact that ones I had in my group are non-existant in the war camp? Cause there was Eva, Cynn and Devona instead of the cultist, caster and warrior hench I had.

I've spent the last few days dreaming about this place,
all my characters are
ascended or completed and i've still not been to look at it so thanks for the info i'll
most probably be running it to where i need to be with my ranger or warrior if it
saves a bit of time, Cheers...

none of my characters are ascended yet lol... my E/Mo I got there with is infused but thats it. Personally... I don't see what the differences is between ascended and not when it comes to dying... ascended people die just as quickly as me lol.

Same,
i tried three groups earlier and then all died before getting to
the doorway,
so i changed to my ranger grabbed some hench and just
ran to the war camp and then on to sorrows furnace, awesome looking
place, much better then anywhere else on the map "exept uw & fow" ofc.
First quest was and had to be, KIIIillllroooy Sttttoooooneekiiilll haha was
a pretty good one that, still makes me laugh now and it was hours ago.
After i completed that went back onto trying to find some runes to unlock
again,
but i'll be visiting sorrows more often i recon this week as i maybe
didnt give it much of a chance to grow on me like i should have,
