GREEN ITEMS and what you think about them

For all you people in the trade forum saying "these arent worth any more than a collector item" or "Go farm the boss they drop like flies" I want to say here and now to shut up! I dont see you posting limitless auctions of green items for 7k each! Your trying to run the market and scare people and its stupid and immature and your obviously just jealous. I have gone into sorrows furnace many times in the last two days and not gottena green, so shut your pie holes!! They ARE worth 100k or more.

Would you pay 100k for an item you can get by killing some bosses for less than half an hour?

However, your lack of luck does not increase their worth.

Items will never be uber enough to worth 100k. GW will never have such items.

edit. 100k for an item? O M G - don't you have PvP hero creation device? 6000 faction and you got sup runes and weapon upgrades that is more than enough.

In all honesty an item as crappy as the green items is not worth 1k in my mind. Its worth oh 125... equivalent of a collector item. Do you know why? Because these so called "godly" green weapons are unchangeable and have pretty sucky mods... some are infact green collectors items. I'd be happier to spend 125 on a colectors item and make it actually worth something to my build than to carry around stupid highly limited green letter garbage items.

Lets Review:
Can't be modified in anyway.
Can't be dyed... cmon I wanted it to be silver!
Exactly the same as your collectors items in Mineral Springs >< (and other locations)
I can make equally good ones in droks now and spend... 5k... hey thats what we say the green crap is worth!

I'm just a casual gamer, myself. Gotten two greens today. One was a really nice hammer.

The other was a Necro wand that was just... meh.

I like these greens...

ok a couple things.

1. people all day have been offering 50 ecto for green swords

2. there are often collector items better than gold ones, but people still payed wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more for gold items

3. i got 3 green items today and made over 100k selling them



so all you people whining about how much green items suck, go farm them yourself and quit crying because you wasted your ebay gold on stuff we are getting for free now

Everyone I see posting that green items aren't great (usually correctly comparing them to collector's items) do nothing that even resembles "whining". Seriously, people fling this term at anyone who says anything. Just stop it, you dolts bring down the level of this board.

I agree with Shadow deamon. Im saddened though cause i found a max 8 req 15>50 flamberge with medium to high range mods and I dont think its gonna sell for much but oh well its a game I normally only have about 2-6k anyways. And another thing everytime I see a post with the following words; noob, n00b, n00bz0r, n00bZoR. I am going to call whoever said it pathetic. Everyone is new at some point, some people don't play games 2-4 hours or for some of us 2-12 hours. It really is a semi-insult and if you use it its kinda sad. I think I could say 1337 to some of you and use it as an insult, there is a line of gaming that can be crossed. In this case it was Lag Hell. I dunno it just irks me the wrong way when people have to insult others. Period end of story, I find it rude and offensive. This is my rant so I'll keep going for a second here. I have only had the game for 2 months and I am a noob at heart. The noob-leet thing is like freshman-seniors in high school. You must feel like since at one point you probably got made fun of so now you take it out on people trying to learn how to play. I probably got called a noob 50-100 times in presearing because I asked simple questions. Such as hey is this black dye I just found worth anything. I heard so many nos I knew it was worth something. Made a comment and got called a noob for it. My first class was a necromancer, so I looked at my charecter sheet and went wow soul reaping sucks. Yet again I asked why they would put such a horrible attribute on such a limiting charecter sheet. noobed again, maybe I just have pent up noob rage. Who knows....sorry about all this but its like someone rubbing my bath towel all ove rtheir naked body ...eww gross.

I don't see the green items being that valuable. They're okay, but not godly by any means. An item being gold or green doesn't make it good.

ok not ALL greens are great, but the yakslapper? how can you say thats not worth 100k? 20% enchants and 5 energy PLUS the other mods on it? or how about the axe or sword? sure a wand is a wand is a wand, but some of these are good for dual class skills not limited like a collectors.

hopefully we will get even more green items with better combos.

Seriously, they're paying these amounts, and I've seen offers up to 500K. It's just sick.. Since they're not that good, and easily found.


Yakslapper is NOT worth 100K. For 100K, get the collector's staff (11-22, +10 Energy, 20% Faster Casting, 20% Faster Recharge) and add the 2 mods you want. Yakslapper is way overrated.

Some of you don't get it. It's not the quality of the Green Items that's in question...it's the ease of getting them. I'm not saying that they're extremely easy to get...but easy enough.

In a week or so...they'll be common enough that people will be selling them for cheap. So you people that are selling or buying them for 100k... *shakes head*

I think its about time poor people like me have a chance at getting such cool weapons. makes me feel special. I know im not, but it makes me feel that way.

people say they are not great cause you cant mod them yet the seem to all have perfect mods or rather certain traits on them that we would pay tons for to mod them. if u get a green you should not need to mod them at all correct? do they have crappy ones? Why would these not be godly? since I joined people all said "it aint godly, ur bow has a +29 health if it were +30 and have max damage and low req. then perhaps!" But if perfect +30 health and a +5 Armor with max dmg. and a 8 or 9 in req. is not godly...what is?

I hear u get them via killing bosses, so go kill, they do drop often. i guess it is getting lucky with a drop that suits your needs. I got lucky with +60 health for my monk! I dont farm I heal and protect, i dont attack but it is max anyway, all I know is it i had to buy 2 +30 mods for a white staff it would cost me hundreds of thousands. yet cause the text is green (which u dont see anyway less u hover over the weapon) it is worth like 3k at best??? again, pls. explain. So if one day someone ever finds a Perfect Green Crystalline Sword it will be worthless I am talkin +30 health low req., Max dmg. 10/10 sundering whatever it is now junk? So we really just play hours on end for bragging rights on text color? I dunno, I got my stuff so i dont care, but u guys confuse me on this issue.

I think they're worth about 2k-30k. High if it's one of the better ones and you're too lazy/eager to wait for it.

pff.. lol, Gold drops was your favourite waste of money.. (good gold drops), now you can open a chest, 1 times on 3, u get a gold drop, 1 on 10 a very good one. Your argues "go farm yourself it dont cost..." -> LOL, when we were able to farm Shards & Ectos why dont u sell them for 100g? u can farm .... Not all the people can go farm in there, greens items are limited for new players who can't get there, but all new people can open a chest and find gold items, IMO gold items don't worth much now.. I saw in those forum people buying gold item 100K+ for things they could have in "COLLECTOR" for 1k ecc.. so dont waste your time by selling : you can have the same @collector, if u dont know that collector items are the best one. So if people who cant go to new area or farm by themself wasting 20hours to get THE drop they want, they can afford it. You know u say u can get 1 items half hours, it's true, but wich one?.. I can get 1 gold item by 5 minutes or less by opening all the chests I see.

Collector > Green > gold. But coz of you people buy gold more than 100k sometimes why not waste some money in Green items? :/ I don't see the point of "go farming by urself" lol. When you are in a city near a collector who wants irridescents griffons wings, every1 who need those wings pay 100g each, but they can farm them 20per20, why dont they go by themself ? coz they dont want. It's the same, if u want a green hammer, and u dont want to farm hours & hours, getting every green drop & not your hammer.. you can buy it at those who farm. That as always been like that, It's called (french translation lol) Home service, you stay where you are, you pay someone to get you something you could get, but you dont have anything to do, just pay.
But don't pay much I agree lol just some plat, under 10, because they are really limited, all drops are the same, no random drops lol :/. The hammer of this boss, the wand of this one, the ....Maybe this update is to kill farming of items ecc, to see more people in PvP : you have your fow armor, you have ur green godly items, you have all your sup runes, try PvP... Because when PvE part is ended game is so boring^^

A last thing, there is some people who pay 100k+ for one type of sword because of their look, & for the same stats, another look, they will pay 1k.. so

Someone was trying to sell me his Brimstone Air Wand for 500k .. and i was like ...what the ..

I spent an hour yesterday in LA shouting "WTG Free advice - How to easily obtain Gold & Green items, and avoid the greedy traders. Never pay 50k+ on a "Godly" weapon again".

I got several people ask how and a couple of pissed off traders, but the majority were taking the hint, and offering their golds for 2 - 10k (A much more reasonable price spectrum IMO), aand a few very grateful and enlightened players.

Right now, greens are scarce and people are drooling over them, and they throw their piles of money at it accordingly. They're not paying for the quality, they're paying to be one of the first to have one of the new items so they can feel special.

A month from now they'll be commodity goods that'll likely sell from 5k to 20k or so, depending on availability or demand. Most of the greens you see right now are the common ones, too - from the bosses in Grenth's Footprint - and those are going to plummet as the become more common. Greens that only drop from the random bosses in furnace, though - those should keep their value for some time. I can see the green sword staying above 50k for a long time.

Well, some of the greens are not really good (well in the sense that ppl cant change the mods) but they are not worthless. Some has really nice looking , some offers unique mods (for example Wroth Holy Rod : 20/20 Recharge & Casting faster in Protection Prayer).

I just did a bosses hunting run and notice that no green dropped. Maybe Anet did something with the patch this morning or maybe my team was just unlucky. If you can confirm whether drops have been nerfed please reply. The question is, if Anet really did nerf greens , are you ppl gonna bitch & moaning for it again ? If they didnt nerf it then I would say 5-10k should be a fair price especially for lazy ppl like me who doesnt farm (well, I dont farm griffins or anything just want to get a Malino Shield ).

Green items are easy to obtain, you just have to take time until one is yours. I want a green Holy Rod and a Yakslapper...just the name of it makes me want that item.

Their stats are better than PvP only weapons and just like them they are too static.

Theres only 72 different ones at all (it seems) , 12 for each class and barely 2-3 for each attribute.
-> One build only fill 2 slots with green items, and the other 2 spaces can still be filled with simular but WAY more flexible yellow items to round up the build a lot!

However green items combine pretty good because nothing is doubled and everything is combined in a usefull way BUT they still limit optimized builds for them to only a few different per green item. Theyre overspecialisated, therefore easy to counter.

Hey its gonna be fun, now i not only EXACTLY know each of the 8 skills a foe uses just by looking at him, i also know the EXACT stats of his weapon by a very good chance!

If I wanted a specific green, I would definitely pay as high as I can to get it as quickly as I can. no hassles.

If I was a seller, I would definitely try to get the best price before I sell. No one can force you to sell at "their" price. If no one wants to pay your price, then no one buys it, you just then ask yourself, "Is it a reasonable price?" "Change or not change?"
