I have been thinking about some health degen/DoT issues recently with my R/Me. I currently use poison arrow and conjure phantasm to incur a -9 health degeneration state on my target (I have recently been informed the max is -10, and not -9, much to my dismay).

My question is this: If you are to exceed max health degen on a target, and the last degen spell/condition applied to target is removed (as shown in this case - however, it could also be that one condition/spell wears off), does the remaining "extra" degen then get applied(?) to the target? Allow me to clarify.

1. Idol hits target with Poison. (-4)
2. Idol hits target with Conjure Phantasm. (-5).
3. Idol hits target with random DoT spell (-3).

That totals out to a degen of -12, however the cap is -10. If, say, the last DoT spell (3) is removed from said target, does that leave the target with a remaining -9 health degeneration, or does it leave the target with only -7 (in effect, completely ignoring the degen above -10).

I hope I worded this correctly.

Yes. Think of the effect of the spell as being constantly applied, till it runs out. If you lose one of them, the other two will still be running and will renew their proper degen sum continuously until they run out.

Yep. The arrows past the tenth are still sort of hanging around invisibly, just not causing any further degen at that moment. This is also noteworthy in that if your target gets a health regen effect to cancel out some of your degen arrows, the ultimate net arrows will be calculated using the "extras".

E.g., if you put Conjure Phantasm, poison, and bleeding on a target for a total of 12 degen arrows, the target will be losing health at the ten-arrow rate. However, if she casts Healing Breeze on herself for +9 regen, she will end up with three arrows of degen, until one of those four effects wears off.
