The idea of having 2 profession seems really nice, but is it wize to take up 2 professions and spread your talent points out more. Or wold it be wizer to go with one, thus only have 4 or 5 types of magic to put points into and making ur one professions spells stronger?

I don't think it's possible to only have one profession, but even it was, why would you want to? You don't have to put any points into your second profession, if you don't want to. Having a second profession doesn't limit you in any way. I think you'll find that you'll want to not only have but also use a second profession.

In all the time that I've played GW, I mostly stuck to 1 character class. Two always seemed like too much to me, and I rarely use the second profession's abilities. The only class set that I use that contradicts this is my Warrior/Necro, which makes hunting more fun Otherwise, dual professions just isn't interesting to me

You have to choose a second profession to progress past the start of the game, but there's no law that you have to actually use it. It's your choice how you want to spend your attribute points. You can put them all into attributes of only one of your professions if you want. There's also a great thing called Attribute Refund Points, of which you aquire one every 250XP. These allow you to take points back out of attributes and re-assign them into other attributes so you can totally change your character build later on if you feel the need.

You sound like a very very boring person to know. I'm glad I don't know you in real life.

I prefer to focus on one class, as I can use my attribute points more specificly.

I am only R/Mes Because the mesmer trainer is closest to ascalon
