Displaying of Skill Usage

Ok, so I've violated my own periphery reasoning (and bigotry) theorem. Here's the revision:

Can NCSoft/NCSoft please remove the skill description and animation during usage and replace with a generic, non-descriptive text line and animation?

This change can foster less build duplication and allow for more individual build R&D.

So your basically taking 3/4 of the disrupt skills outta the game?

from what it sounds like, you believe you have an "uber build". that your build is the greatest build known to man kind. is there absolutely NO POSSIBLE WAY someone else had the same idea as you when they made their own build?

Who cares..? They won't take your build anyway, and there are probably many people with the same build as you do anyway.

And while we're at it lets change Mesmer class to Shit Bag Then I can say my Shbg/Mo is horrible.

You need to read what I've said, bub. I said they should do their own R&D. A lot of the GW players are very young kids or adults with low IQs that really cannot develop a good build.

I've developed friendship with a lot of people and most of these individuals just have sucky builds.

Most people that I group with just plain ineffective. I've seen LVL20 Eles that can't must more than 1-2 AoE in 60s--now this is just pathetic. I've also seen many monks that can't heal/protect worth the dirt on my nails.

As an Ele, I can spam continuously without ever running out of energy and I can do 403 dmg (firestorm) and 1428 dmg (meteor shower). When I say spam, I mean spam firestorms and meteor showers as soon as they cool down plus constantly firing Flare and Fireball. (BTW, I do 403 & 1428 w/o using Glyph of Elemental power).

To to answer your sarcasm, yes, I do have a build that's better than most and I don't want people to go stealing it! (To qualify this fact, all you have to do is stand in LA and watch which items are valuable. I have not seen what I use to be valuable to most, so it's obvious a lot of people are not using my build. You see people buying +30 Health upgrades, etc, but never xxx mods, so you kinda know )

My monk build is just as rock solid and creative, too.

My tanker build is just average run of the mill

And, btw, stop speaking (or inventing facts) for me. I've never claim that no one else has a better build or that my build is impossible to be discovered by others!

That is the biggest load of bullshit I have ever heard. I play interrupt mesmers and most of the time you can't see that they're casting a skill, and if I do see them casting a skill, how would I know what it's casting time is? If they're casting resurrect, I'd like to stop it, and if it's a fast spell, I would be wasting my interrupt because it would have no effect. It is perfect the way it is, if people see your build, well too bad then, because there are ways to use builds correcetly and incorrectly aswell. I'm glad this is a bad suggestion and not part of the game.

Have I attacked you personally in ways I'm not aware of? Why so confrontational? If you don't agree, a simple "/not signed" or 'I disagree" would've been sufficient.

again, how do you know that not a single person in the entire gw community has done the same R&D as you have? the post you have makes it sound like you are the greatest player known to man. I am sure many people have figured out what you have, on their own. it also sounds like you believe yourself to be a super genius......... why not go out and do something good with the world since your IQ is so much higher then the people that play the game?

I'll allow this since I did open myself to this criticism, but let me qualify my "adult with low IQ" comment (since I spoke out of my arse ). A person's IQ really doesn't affect how good that individua plays a game, as long as the individual has sufficiently developed cognitive functions. This comment was made more out of sarcasm than relative applicability.

Your point about doing something for the world, I doubt you'll be able to qualify since you don't even know what I contribute to the "world".

I don't agree with you nor do I agree with anybody else here. What ArenaNet chooses to do is still up to them and whatever you post here is legit since it is indeed a suggestion forum. However, I'd like to say that considering the large amount of people posting against this idea, maybe you should take into consideration that maybe it perhaps wasn't the best kind of idea out there.

I play Interrupt Ranger. As a very important part of my team, I need to use Concussion Shot to Daze an enemy monk, rendering them nearly useless. That means that my Concussion Shot needs to hit and interrupt the casting of an enemy spell. That means that it would have to be something longer than an Orison of Healing, and preferrably something worth interrupting. If I could not see what my opponents were casting, I would be left guessing.

You say that "I've known for a fact that many people are stealing my build because they click on me while I'm in battle and watch what skills I use." I would like to know how you would know something like this. Maybe they haven't seen you do anything, and wanted to make sure you are actually casting spells. Maybe they are curious how much damage a specific spell does for damage. Maybe they wanted to know what Elite you were using. Maybe they were writing down your skills to tell their guild how bad you were. You do not know anything for sure.

If someone wants to steal your build, you should be glad they think are you good enough for that. And then laugh the next time in the arena you fight against them, because they have no way of finding out what equipment you have or what your attributes are.

I think you need to get over yourself, and remember that other classes need to see what skills people are using.

Hey, I hear they are adding a spectator mode to the PVP arenas... You'll love that... especially if they can see your *gasp* godly pvp build. But besides that .......

Come on, it's not about the 8 skills you got put in your bar.. it's more about how you play
any person can see anybody else's skill bar but to be able to copy the way an expert plays his build... it's very hard to observe and deduce.

Any fool can put the same 8 skills i got in my bar, into his bar and ill still beat him.

it's not about the WHAT but its about the HOW.
