Hello.

I've been looking around different forums, and i've seen multiple posts about how to get out of searing.

Ok.

First, you need to off advanced to ATLEAST level 3.

Second, You MUST have a secondary proffesion, get more information on this by speeking to the Amris guy opposite sir tydus( Unsure on his name, correct me if you can).

Third, You must have done the first mission sir tydus gives you.

Fourth, When you are ready, you must speek with sir tydus, If you have done everything correctly, he should say something like " The forces are ready, and we are ready to launch the attack against charr forces, you can go now and leave this place Behind"
You should get 2 options, Either " Yes Im ready to leave everything behind" Or, " No, not Just yet"

If you are in an existing party, and you speek to Sir Tydus, you get a 3rd option, offering for your party to enter the mission.
Btw, all your party members must have reached the requirements ( See first, second and Third).

I hope this small guide has helped you.

Please post all pre-searing/searing related questions here.

Regards, Ashleigh.

I guess I am a bit slow....what exactly do you have to do to go back to presearing ascalon????????

Go back to Tydus??? And then respond how????

I would like to go back to pre searing ascalon for more character development. I got to post searing ascalon by accident...

you cannot go back
the only way is to create a new character

You can not go back to presearing ascalon, if you read what Sir Tydus says, he states that you cannot return.

And When you go back to sir tydus to advance to the academy, you must reply in a positive selection( eg: I would like to leave everything behind).

The only way to return to pre-searing is to re-create that character, or simply make another.

You MUST have a secondary proffesion - i've seen people walking Searing Ascalon without one. Although i never go through without one im sure that this statement is not correct.

Yeah it seems im stuck here. Im in pre-searing, but ive done all the quests that i can find. But the catch is that im only a single profession. It states in the gam FAQ that it was not required to pick up that second profession. I hope that is true. But what sucks is that i cant proceed to the searing for some reason. The only quest i havent completed besides the second profession would be the ranger outside the great wall, whom the gatekeeper wants me to find. Unfortunatly for him the stupid gatekeeper wont open the gate for me!! But i could care less about that, i just want to stop wondering pre-searing bored out of my mind.

You do have to take a second profession.

But if you want to be a pure character just don't use any of the attributes or skills from the second profession.

The NPC across from Tydus near the gate gives a quest to get a second profession, will also direct you to the appropriate trainer.

Ok so you need to be in a party to do Searing?

Is there anything I need to do before this? Quests, armor, weapons, ect.

Ugh how annoying.
It wuld have been very wise of GuildWars developer's to make this whole thing a little more explanatory.

They failed in this big time flaw.

How in the heck are you people having a problem with this? First of all, you shouldnt be leaving pre-searing at level 3. I had a hard enough time with my Nec/Elem on beta when he was level 5 in post-searing, so I would not recomend leaving pre-searing at 3. Also, to get a second profession, you need to do the quest for that profession. To find out where to get that quest from, you can do your primary profession quest and ask the same NPC you finish it with "Where can I learn more skills", and the NPC will tell you where to go to get the quest for the secondary. Oh, and you don't need a secondary profession to get into post-searing.

I agree with the poster who previously replied to this. How confusing is the tutorial? I mean, honestly, they direct you where to go, they have help windows pop-up to guide you along, hint boxes...the first few quests to get weapons/armor/skills hold the player's hand.

And if there's any confusion there (I don't see how there could be), nearly every NPC in the game has some type of dialogue to help you along, especially those in Old Ascalon/Ascalon City.

"Big time flaw" my butt. It seems like people are blaming ArenaNet for something the player simply failed to do (pay attention to the dialogue and menus).

GuildWars' tutorial is probably one of the, if not the, best tutorials I've ever experienced. To call them convoluted, or too complicated, or even insinuate that it's confusing on any level...that's just asinine.
