Rare(unique) items do exist

For those you worried about armor and weapons so much, and flaming the boards because lack of rare and unique items, try getting through some of the game. Later in the game, yellow unidentified items do drop proclaiming they are rare. A rare Short Bow has dropped, yada yada, reserved for me. These items are very nice, they have 2-3 random mods, and are MAX damage, I will give a few examples:

Scroll
Energy +13
Health +40

Longbow
17-28 damage
+13% damage (if health above 50%)
+20% damage AFTER customization
Enchantments last 13% longer
+1 other mod I cannot remember

I have also dropped a Flaming dragonsword like Rurik's, decent stats, badass look. You guys have so much to unlock in this game, so my god man, research before flaming, you look like idiots.

I heard a rumor that all Dragon Swords are "Fiery Dragon Swords". Is this true or can you still put a hilt on it and have fire based damage at the same time?

They are Fiery Dragon swords, I am not sure on the hilt question, it is worth a shot to test out, I got rid of my hilts for string because I am a ranger, but the dragon swords are Fiery Dragon swords and they are very very NICE looking.

I've found three or four "rare" items.

1. Rare Storm artifact +12 energy, +7 armor
1. Rare Cruel Piercing Axe (currently using this ) 6-27 damage, 17% more damage when hexxed, deep wounds last longer.
1. Rare Break Hammer of something (sucked)
1. Rare scroll (sucked)

they really arent that rare, I found all of them off of "special" mobs, like drakes or entangling roots.

how do you use a weapon upgrade component??

Mine might not be a super mega awesome weapon but it's cool. I fould a butterfly sword tonight...too bad I'm an elementalist.

10-13 dmg
+11 vs. hexed foes

Gotta start somewhere....right?

how do you know if a weapon has empty upgrade slots?
