High Priest Alkar with hench

Well Ive attempted this quest about 7 times now with all henchmen. Its rough since you cant leave anybody behind to watch the priest while getting the crystals. You have to go kill 1 or 2 foes then run back to the priest over and over to check on him or keep him alive.

When starting on a new crystal I noticed most the time as soon as you agro the first foe on your way back to the next thats when the first patrol hits the priest. Usually an Etten, Dark Binder and Priest of Sorrow. As far as when the second patrol to come on him comes.. Its either as soon as you agro the guy that drops the crystal or as soon as you kill him. That one is usually a bunch of Dark Knight dudes with random other guys.

I got the tomb and 3 crystals to the priest. Went to get the last and some how got the crystal dropper to the front of the group he was with so i spanked him snagged the crystal then sprinted back to the priest. Coming around the corner to the priest I saw about 6-7 foes headed for him. Couldnt make it to him in time. If anybody has success or advice with this one for an all hench party let me know.

PS: This is where henchmen commands would come in handy.

I did it with hench after two 'practice' tries. Here is the trick:
1] there appears to be 1 patrol that attacks Alkar per crystal.
2] Be prepared to run back to Alkar as soon as you see his health bar change. Do not worry about what else is going on, just run back.
3] Do not fight the dredge where they spawn! Aggro them and lure them back to Alkar so you are close enough when the patrol shows up.

On the last crystal I ran back to Alkar as soon as I got the last crystal carrier in aggro range. Ended fighting the patrol and the Dredge at Alkars location.

I did it with only henchies. There was a lot of running back and forth. I basically ran to him even w/o his health dropping everytime I aggroed a new group and everytime I killed a group. Sometimes there'd be groups headed his way.

Don't pick up the crystals when running back. Only after running back and killing everything, then go back and bring crystal.

I manage to complete on the 3rd try, from my finding it is as following
1) Once you start attacking the dredge, the patrol will appear, run back and kill patrol
2) go back and finish them off, kill the blastrock last, killing it will spawn the next group of patrol, I didnt pick up the stone, once blastrock died, i run back and kill patrol then go back for the stone
3) for the 3rd stone, try to avoid the stone summit patrol near the dredge
4) for the last stone, there is a slope near to the location of the first stone the last group of dredge will patrol to that place, just do alot of luring of the dredge towards the temple
Although tedious but I manage to complete with henchmen

did it yesterday with henchies. as said before do a lot of running back and forth. i had packed sprint for this.

also when you get back tot he priest take the people down prolly in this order -

the priests, dark binders, ettins, and so on.

this was my third try on the quest. i tried to do it the second time with a group of people but there are too many bad players out there...

You can do it with all henchmen. The wave of attackers only tread towards Alkar when you've killed the Blastrok and when the crystal drops. One of the things that helped was to pull the mobs back to the altar to kill, and yes, the boogers will follow you.

Another idea is to lure the monster with the crystal back towards the priest. My guild discovered that he does follow you just about everywhere until you kill him.
