Mysterious healing
Almighty Zi
Has anyone else noticed that foes in grenth's footprint seem to heal themselves without using skills? Keep a foe targetted and you will see him get a nice influx of health without any enemy monks nearby and without a skill being displayed under his health bar.
I first noticed this with when there was just one enemy axe wielder left from a group. I though that there must have been an emeny monk nearby - but no. I thought that a ranger may have put down a healing spring just before he died but he kept getting bursts of HP for a considerable time. I knew it wasnt from healing signet because I could see him use this. Its not just limited to the axe wielders either.
Am I overlooking something? Have you seen the same? Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

The solution - spike them hard and stay one them. Even they're hexed with Conjure Phantasm with a sliver of health don't turn your back until they're dead.

I'm not sure if this was clear in my previous post but I was referring to the stone summit dwarves in grenths footprint rather than the foes in the furnace. Keep an eye out the next time you go into grenths footprint and let me know if you see the same thing.
Almighty Zi
Thx for the suggestion Xue, but I'm not really having a hard time killing them. I'm just perplexed as to how they are healing and perhaps a little paraniod that I'm either mistaken or missing something.

I only noticed it when I had High Priest Alkar along: he uses Heal Area apparently
Almighty Zi
It is that god-damn priest. I just did a run with henchies and it didnt happen without Alkar. I then added him to my party and I saw him healing the enemies!
I pulled a group with the warrior boss and left the boss until last. I had alkar and the boss on my screen at the same time and I could see the boss gain HP whenever alkar used his healing animation. I kept switching between the two and I could see Alkar using orison and heal other but no-one in the party was gaining the benefit. He was definately healing the boss.
I'm not sure whether this is intentional but I'm glad at least I now know how the enemies are getting healed.

, I've got your answer. They either use Defy Pain [E] or Endure Pain... becuase I generally see atleast 1 health spike. They might be using both of them. Btw, those are warrior skills that increase health max by give or take 100-300 for X amount of time

GreatLich
It's definitely the Alkar Priest-dude... I've seen him heal enemies...
must be due to some "bug" in the AI scripts that allow the quest character (such as alkar and galen) be both allied to the players and to the mobs. Not a priority bug, imho

ugh, read my post which is right above yours... although and i don't even know if its true, but that one priest may have Heal Area, but u should be able to see if he is RIGHT next to enemy. I'm telling ya, its' Defy Pain [E] or Endure Pain.
carnivore
read the posts above yours, aparently people have seen him using RoF and Orison on other mobs
Viaz Xsikemesi
that Priest heals your party members. Not the enemy, if hes healing in the direction of the enemy it's prob your ally. I don't think A-net messed up on that having ppl test it for the intire summer now.
knives
High priest Alkar heals enemies. You can even sit there, let the henchies pound the remaining enemy, and he will use Orison of Healing on the dwarves. It is the source for the mysterious healing.
Ensign
High Priest Alkar and all of the other 'friendly' mobs will heal both allies and enemies that are nearby. You'll see collectors and quest givers in the Furnace doing the same thing. It's mighty annoying when you're trying to kill a Monk boss, and a nearby collector runs up and starts slapping buffs on him.

Obviously you were taught well by Orion mage way back in Old Ascalon

stumpy
also the npc's heal the enemies to
Carth`
Ahhhhhhh this drove me crazy. I took a hench party, and in a certain battle (a battle where we had to run), only me (a monk), Little Thom and Devona survived, and there was one Stone Summit Carver. Slowly I realised that he wasn't dying. I thought that was weird, because usually the two hench warriors do decent damage, and he had no form of healing. Then I saw that his health kept jumping up despite no healing signet being used.
So I looked around for another enemy (a healer perhaps), but there was none, only him. Then I saw naughty High Priest Alkar, casting Orison of Healing on the Stone Summit again and again! And he didn't bother to heal me or the henches! Grrr, I'm not taking him to Sorrow's Furnace if he heals the enemies lol.

They all do it. Ever single frigging NPC in there. Theres 1 that gives you the quest to kill a few bosses (been a long time since i did anything in SF to remember) that just stands there healing and casting Mark of Protection on things that are nearly dead!
The only place NPCs are actually helpful is in FoW where 1 of the Eternals at Kromrils area randomly casts Heal Other on you n stuff (before the Skeletons decide they hate him and go for him...).

It definitely happens, I've seen the same thing on Divinity coast when I was running it - the abbot (green NPC) at the cleansing fountain was healing the mergoyles, with regular healing spells (not heal area).
Tarkin
... the npc heal the foes... old news to me...
cosyfiep
well that explains a lot.....I always wondered why some enemies never seemed to die when they should have, now I know. Thanks for the info!

Also.. Parasitic Bond?
Matsumi
Ya, don't you love that? Just wish scourge healing would kill those little !@#$'s lol
Cherng Butter
I was frolicking in ascalon a while back, and my mesmer and henchies were killing a devourer before i realized it was getting health over and over...and lo and behold, Ambasador Zain was healing it! o.O
