I have two accounts active right now. My preorder account and full game account. I need to combine either one of these access codes into the other. Of course it won't let me becuase it says that both access keys are in use. I was playing under my preorder access code but now I need to enter my full game access code which is registered but not being used.

Any ideas on how to delete an account and free up the full game access code or the preorder access code (so I can keep the bow) so I can apply it to my other account?

I know it was stupid to start two new accounts but back then I didn't know how to apply the preorder access code, which now after some research I do. Thanks for the help.

I am in the same boat. However, I opened a Question in Support. After about 20 hrs I received a response asking for more information. I responded back. But, now it' s been about 32 hrs and no response back. So I still have two accounts. The Pre-Order beta one with a special item and a character. And the CE full game one with no chars . And now, the pre-order beta one is "locked" (the early access apr27-28 period is over) until a full game access key is entered.

not sure if this helps

but I had preorder acct and when I got my CE copy, I logged into the PreOrder Acct, and used the option to "Add another CD key"

this activated the PreOrder acct to full status

Yeah... My account is locked too... I cannot use the Pre-order anymore.

your best bet i guess is to get in touch with arenanet and explain to them; provide account names and see if they will delete the 'full' account or can merge them from their end? *shrugs*

That's what you're supposed to do.

Hopefully all of you who now have two accounts will be able to get it sorted out; that's got to be annoying. A lot of people were confused on the subject when the game went from the transition of preorder to retail. I think they should have had very clear instructions posted somewhere so people wouldn't wonder if they were doing it properly.

Support contacted me quickly but it was just telling me they directed my question to the account support team. That was yesterday around 1pm. I have heard nothing since then. I am going to play under my full account, because I am sick of waiting and just hope they eventually solve the issue.

Well, this might be becoming a mute point since most people wont have preorder access codes to worry about. But it has taken support since 4/30/05 around 1pm to offer to reissue me a one-time only preorder access key to attach, the correct way, to my full retail account. A couple things would have, I believe, sped this along quite nicely. If you have this issue I would suggest in your orginal email to support to include:

The preorder access key and associated email
The full retail access key and associated email
and what your preferred email account is.

They will probably offer to delete your preorder account and any associated players with that account will be unplayable. Although, they said it would remain open it would just need a full game access code attached too it. Well, I hope that helps speed along the process for anyone else who needs to do this.

I had the same problem corrected. Do you happen to know how to get at yoru pre-order item? I have the Targe, which appearred in my inventory with my pre-order account, but I'm guesing I need to do something to get it into my inventory now that I've added the one-time only pre-order key to my Retail account.

It should show up on any new character you make. If you want it on a prexisting character or you don't have your item. In a city/town/ or district type "/preorder" or "/presale". Make sure you have an open spot in your inventory otherwise it won't show up. Hope that helps!
