Any way to uncharm pet?

Help... maybe an obvious newbie question, but I have used the search function and couldn't find the answer.

I went to start the level 1 ranger skill as my seconday profession, anyway I charmed a wolf before I found out I don't seem to be able to uncharm it.

Now whenever I go to the Melandru's Stalker and try to charm it, I get the message 'you already have a pet' . I even tried getting my wolf killed first but that didn't help either. Also tried removing the skill by starting the warrior course and then re-starting the ranger course but it seems to remember that the wolf is my pet.

Now I don't seem to be able to complete the task as you have to charm that damn Melandru's Stalker.

Does anyone know how I can overcome this? PPpppplease help....

You need to visit a Tamer, there is one next to Master Ranger Nente in pre-searing ascalon. He will take away your pet.

Genius. Thanks very much... I spent the last 2 hours trying to get rid of that damn wolf and now I feel like a right numpty as I had already talked to that tamer but just not put 2 and 2 together to realise what he did.
