Well I've been playing a lot with Mo/N for Offering of Blood, due to it's unconditional energy gain (meaning it does not rely on anything to give you the energy , apart from a measly 17% life).
I changed the secondary to /Me just to try it out, because I liked the idea of giving someone on the other team a bit more grief (i.e. Energy Drain). However, due to it being unreliable at times, I needed an additional skill to manage things, and that was inspired hex (hex removal and energy in one).
This meant a lot of my focus ended up going to finding suitable targets to un-hex and drain, which I wasn't used to from using OoB.
Anyway, this is the build I'm currently running as a Mo/N:
Protective Spirit
Reversal of Fortune
Aegis
Mend Ailment
Shielding Hands
Offering of Blood {E}
Divine Boon
Res Signet
For the Mo/Me, I would use:
Protective Spirit
Reversal of Fortune
Aegis
Mend Ailment
Shielding Hands
Energy Drain {E}
Inspired Hex
Divine Boon
For running the Mo/Me, I would sacrificing the Res Signet, which I've heard is a good idea if you're running a monk in Tombs (I'm running PUGs though, so I often find myself using it when I have it equipped anyway). If I were to switch out the Signet on the Mo/N, what would be a good alternative from the Blood line?
Feel free to give some tips, and give me your experiences of running a Mo/Me.
Mo/Me or Mo/N for energy management?

big jim is my monk mesmer. i really should use some inspiration skills but never have space for them when my healing skills are done.
i am told that inspired hex is very very cool. i have recently started using arcane echo and divine healing.
as a M/N... big jim was one for a while (i was toying with Martyr + the send condions spell but thats 2 elites...)
the ability to steal health from enchantments on enemies is useful. but the mesmers ability to steal energy from enemy enchantments is useful too.
if you tend to run out of energy, be a mes; if you tend to run out of health, be a nec.

I would use whichever elite type is being used the least in your group. If you all have OoB (offering of blood), one should go drain. If you all have drain, its going to be hard to find an enemy with full mana to get the full effect out of it, so go OoB. If you have a mesmer already using drains, go with OoB, got a nec sacing life as is use energy drain. IMHO varity in your energy management skills will give you a higher survivability rate as you dont have all your eggs in one basket.

That's a good point, and I suppose it's easy to tell what the other monks' energy management is just by looking at their secondary profession.
Is Rend enchantments worth running on a Mo/N, with the smiters rampant all over the place? Is it a risky spell to throw off even if you're not being targetted?

Just cause I want to be helpful, I'll add my ideas to this thread. Basically my cousin wanted to be able to deal some decent damage and heal at the same time with his monk, but he didn't want to use smiting magic to accomplish this goal.
With Mesmer secondary, he didn't feel the effect was enough. With Necro secondary there weren't any decent damage spells (save Dark pact, which I did NOT want him to use) that he could get by with. So basically I had him switch it over to Mo/E and get Glyph of Energy (Elite). So, he's now a Monk that casts Maelstrom and uses Glyph of Energy, Glyph of lesser energy and some healing spells in addition (since he prefers the 'bigger' heals like heal party also).
It's definitely something to consider if you want to run some of the higher energy cost abilities with your monk, or fire out a big spell every once in awhile. So far, he says it's been working out pretty well for him.

Photeus, what is the energy management for a Mo/E then? Using the Glyph of Energy wouldn't be enough to keep me comfortably healing.

I've been toying with the idea of using Ether Lord when I get low on mana.....
I'll try it in tombs and let you know what I think of it.
If I'm not mistaken, I might need Inspiration too high (around 10 or 11)
to use it.

Energy Drain, hands down.

here's the problem with energy drian in tombs - if u foe has no energy (or low for that matter) u rnt gunna get any
should work vs those pesky smiter e/mo's however
i find peace and harmony works nice, but then u can use stuff like aegis and heal party ....

Inspired Hex, on an inspiration monk, is also good energy management.
So's Drain Enchantment. It's not "unconditional", but it's pretty close.
Mantra of Recall is an inspiration energy management elite that's unconditional and provides a bit more juice than Drain.
Elementalist for energy management isn't that great, since few monk spells take 15 (or 20) energy. Maelstrom is a singularly bad idea: can you really afford to tie yourself down for four seconds?
There's an E/Mo healer build with amazing energy management, but for monk primaries Me and N are the two best choices.
