Diversion's Trigger
Barkam
When or how does Diversion trigger? Does it trigger at the very moment you clicked on a skill? Does it trigger eventhough you didn't successfully cast or execute a skill? And if Diversion triggers on the very moment you are trying to execute a skill, does it stack with interruption skills. For example, elementalist with Diversion on him/her is casting Fire Storm, and I interrupt him with Power Leak, does the said elementalist lose energy from Power Leak and increased recharge time from Diversion? Thank you for your inputs.

I'll agree with Blackace. Skills are forced to recharge once they're interrupted. They've been "cast" they just don't take effect. Diversion lengthens that recharge time so it doesn't matter whether a skill goes off or not just that it tried.
Oh, and the Elementalist in your example will not just lose energy from Power Leak and not just recharge from Diversion. They'll also lose the energy they used to start casting that Fire Storm as well as any time they took to cast it before they were interrupted. Interrupts are brutal like that.

That's great news! Thanks for replying. Another thing though.
I thought Diversion lasts as long as they execute a skill and/or it has been removed by a spell.
Edit: Ugh, why can't I put the source, of the quote in the actually quote box.

I believe he's asking about the recent change to Diversion, really. It used to be that if you afflicted someone with diversion it would last until they used their next skill regardless of how long that took them. Now it only lasts for a short time before fading so someone can simply not cast for those six second to avoid Diversion.

Oh wow. Well that definitely changes Diversion. Thanks for the quick response as always.
