I suggest that a new catagory be started in the forum. It's title ..... "Nerf the Monk". Then all the sludge could be dumped into one area, freeing the rest of the forum for worthwhile ideas.

I agree.

As I posted before, the people who invoke a general, wild monk nerf, are generally the same W/Mos who aggro dozens of monsters in-game, bear annoying nicknames like "The Death God", "Emperor Saruman" "Almighty Blade", and couldn't match a triangle with a square in a IQ test.

I suggest one better. Why not just set up an area for all nerf requests/discussions - and leave other areas clear for those of us who want to play the game...

This thread isn't any more useful than all the nerf threads, but hey, it's fun to post in.

the ultimate game for those players are GW:Balanced. In that game, everyone starts with pre-searing armor, end with per-searing armor, all professions have only one weapon type and two common skill - wooden stick ,and healing and rez signet.

there, game perfectly balanced.

Hahahaha...nice one.

Keep in mind that what you suggest isn't possible. The nerf mentality is evil and it's everywhere. I see more and more retarded people asking for an IWAY nerf, while the build is beatable 99% of the times by a prepared team.

Nerfers won't stop until we fight naked, melee, without spells, and we beat each other with small (the big ones would be too powerful) sticks dealing 1 dmg to each other (in a turn based match, of course).

Rez signet is too overpowered! Nerf it!

At the same time, there have been really solid arguments from people who are actually very good at the game and at the math involved in the skills proposing that a particular skill is out of whack with the balancing in the rest of the game. That kind of considered argument is perfectly reasonable. As a recent example, ether renewal. When you see their argumentation, it's hard not to be convinced. I mean, balancing is by no means perfect, it's reasonable that a particular skill could use some tweaking.

I created a little game that should satisfy every player. I posted it on this forum but too bad it got closed after only 2 mins of going live.

Ether Renewal may need a nerf mathematically...but the practical use of a skill that allows you to maintain 80 enchantments isn't there. Ether Renewal is very much balanced when used for anything other than JUST maintaining enchantments. but it'll get nerfed...and nobody will care...and we'll all move on to calling for a nerf for some other skill

Nerf Otyugs Cry...it's too powerful!

That's a horrendously bad argument. If you saw any of the math, you would see that you don't need anywhere near 80 enchantments for this elite to utterly blow away the energy-management value of the other elite EM spells of this type. Given that one of the drawbacks of enchantments (many of which are really quite powerful and definitely worth using if you could avoid the drawbacks) is the -1 energy regen, a skill that completely outclasses all other EM skills while allowing you to maintain multiple enchantments is simply not serving it's purpose with reasonable balance when compared to other skills.

But don't believe me, go to the source of this argument, Ensign, and his post over at Guild-Hall.net.

I've read it...Ensign impresses me. His math is good and it's accurate. Ether Renewal in PvP is easily beaten. I honestly couldn't care less if it's unbalanced because I don't have a problem taking down an ele running it...but then again, the actual nerfing of a skill has never bothered me.

You may have read it, but it's clear you didn't understand any of it. Put very simple, if I have a skill that kills you outright, but you can counter it by using Leech Signet on me, does that mean the skill is easily beaten, and therefore balanced?
