Question about Sorrow's Furnace.

In SF, I have encountered a few doors that are guarded by level 28 furnace guardians. Is it possible to open any of these gates,because I can see enemies on the other side, but there seems like no obvious way to open them. Any help would be much appreciated.

My guess is that you have to go into the furnace the "hard way" (in other words, not with the guy who gives you the chains of enslavement enchantments which gives you more difficult monsters to kill). Then when you fight through all the way to the guardians, you can kill them and the door will open.
