I just fought this baddie in Grenths Footprint - scared the bijeezees out of me (i took a bunch of pics). i did a search and apparently he spawns has spawned in other zones before.
so, if anyone is looking for this big bad lvl 28 worm i found him in grenths. i had farmed the whole grenths map on several occassions since past and have never had this happen unitl tonight.
anyone else have this happen in grenths?

That's good news for the Necromancers trying to capture Feast of Corruption, travelling to Dreadnought's Drifts (Maw's usual stomping ground) from Rankor is such a drag with the countless Tundra Giant mobs doing their 'haha, I knock you down with my ranged attack over and over, oh by the way, giant stomp - say, isn't this fun?' bit, which gets so tedious that mobs of Azure Shadows become a welcome relief after a while.

I belive he doesn't drop any greens. Greens are only dropped by bosses who are 'native' to Sorrows Furnace and Grenth's Footprint, and since Maw can be found many places, he isn't one of those bosses.
He's pretty easy though so just kill him if you see him and hope for a purple or a gold item.

He's supposed to pop in and out of the ground. Big pain in the @$$.

he keeps popping up and down, doing damage, but if you hit him and keep a melee person on him he'll stop so you can nail him above ground. If not, get a bunch of elementalists and nuke his ass. Even if he pops under ground, if an ele is casting something like immolate it hits. Plus immolate sets them on fire :P I like fire :P

has anyone encounted him in snake dance
cause i wanted to cap punishing shot with a PUG group and he ambushed us when we were fighting a group of azures and griphons and we could not take him on and all the azures and griphons as most of us died already. He had the element of surprise and most of us were kinda shocked seeing him here, after a while we just went to war camp to clear dp and go to the new outpost for some of our new characters.

I got him last night just outside the Footprint entrance in Snake Dance. Take the first right, up the pass to where the Hill Giants are. He was right there.

Interesting. My Necro killed him in Dreadnaughts though for Feast of Corruption. The trek there isn't hard for a necro.

Yeah, the trek to where Maw used to be isn't nearly as hard as most people make it out to be. The journey's even less tedious now that you can start from the Warcamp! I made it up there with henchies to cap FoC, no problems at all

Yes youre right about Lornar's Pass too...I was running one of my guild buddies and he popped up...Needless to say...I was in the middle of a group of ice golums and pinesouls so I didn't do so well when he hit me with FoC
