Just started. Best game I've ever played.
Jakerius
Okay, I dled the 10 hour Trial of Guild Wars. I've never played a better game ever. I'm buying it on Saturday because I just want to keep on playing!!!
I started as a R/Mo and I think the two professions compliment each other perfectly. I usually find myself being in the tank, because early on I was only in 1 group for Pre-Searing (Took me about 5 minutes. My group experience was short-lived), so I pretty much tanked for my henchies. Alisia... what a godsend. Saved our lives countless times.
I was wondering, when I get the full version, can I still logon with my old account, because I'd hate to see my hard-worked Ranger gone forever.

Woohoo we have a convert. As for your question about keeping your old account... I'm not sure, sorry. But there's a good chance you'll be able to...
KuTeBaka
Those trial things actually work?!?

I really dont know, cus the 10 hour thing is relatively new and not many I know have tried it out...
But dont worry. It makes sense that you can...

Your account can be linked to one or more CD keys. When I bought GW, I was still able to use my old beta account (My chars were gone... But their names were still there!), so yes, you can keep that character provided you update your account with your GW CD key once you purchase it.

GW seeps into another life. Dont worry, this damn forum is way more addictive than the game.

Maybe I'll understand when I get it...

I have to say that Guild Wars is the game to play. I started with Guild Wars when it first came out and played it non stop. By then the whole WoW vs. GW conversations started with my friends, so we made a bet. They would try GW for a month and I would try out WoW. I must admit that I was addicted to WoW, at first... After about 3 weeks though I found myself wanting to head to the Tombs and take on someone who would actually pose a challenge. So here I am to attest to the way GW's has called me back. Thank you A-net for one of the best games that I've ever played.

The games nowadays don't hold my interest for more then about 15 hours. This game has taken me over the 200 hours and counting. There's something very adictive about GW.

Welcome to Guild Wars!

Pre-Searing's the best game you've ever played?
Have you been locked in a padded room the last twenty years, with only an Atari 2600 and E.T. to keep you company?

Just what is wrong with an Atari 2600 ?

I think the OP is in for one hell of a good time if pre-searing is the best game ever. ^^ It only gets better. Enjoy.

No, I haven't been locked in a padded room for the last twenty years :P
Pre-Searing is before the Cut-Scene where everything is green and lush, and Post-Searing is where everything is barren wasteland/desert-like... right?
Snowman
interesting,
I usually spend about 8 hours in pre-searing, I basically mop up everything.. (and the 5 boss's behind that wall)
But most people do only seem to spend a few hours in pre-searing to begin with, then they are straight into searing..
Im wondering if 10 hours is enough?.. most demos and trials for games are like..7-14 DAYS free trial.
Maybe they are worried that people will complete the game in 14 days and then not have a reason to buy it. lol

1000 hours of PVE?.. sorry, but there just isnt that kind of content.
Going through the game completly with 4 different characters can be done in a relaxed 300 hours.
Truth is, you have to get into PVP very quickly if Guildwars is going to be a long term game.. PVP is what keeps us addicted.

The game is fine for a first play-through, and for some people that first play-through takes many months. Definitely your money's worth if you're interested in PvE.

yes there is CDkey history for the account; i dunno if accounts need to be registered to your email... but mine has the beta key in it from comp usa; bone idol i always get thats OK in pre searing = /

Try putting the cd-key from the full version of the game in to your current account. Then install the cd to download all the files to your hard drive (less downloading in the long run as you enter new area's). Did anything come from the 10 trial that mention what to do if you get the game?
And a very warm welcome to Guild Wars & Guild Wars Guru Forums

Just wanted to echo the welcome to Guild Wars and Guild Wars Guru! Despite everything, Guild Wars is still the first game that grabbed my interest and love (enough for me to become a forum lurker and contributor), and still does. Enjoy your stay!

Pssst. The pvp is even better

PvP? Whats that?
Ex Animo
all my friends are using the 10 hour acounts , they work , most of them fell in love with the game also , and are buying it ... i think they should put the 10 hours acount on affcial page forever ... its perfect for try outs ... and not much use for farmers-ebayers etc , so i dont see why not ...
if they get out of presearing , it will not be long to the 10 hours to be over , only if someone would rush them , but who will rush a complete unknown newbie with no gold ... hehe
welcome to guildwars

I to played WoW for awhile and realized it is a good game, but I just love GW. Im new to and have yet to complete my first character, hes currently 18 R/Mo. I been gettin sidetracked with random arena and pvp chars lol.
My only problem is I havent found a good guild worth stayin in. I take PvP very seriously and no guild I have had the opportunity to join is as serious as me about it. Thats my only gripe about the game, but then again thats not the games fault.
So if you have a serious PvP guild whose helpful, fun, and nice. Then send me a tell. Oh yea, and uses teamspeak.
P.S ArenaNET are the best people you can ask for dev-wise. They are very responsive to their players and care more then any dev team I've seen.
