How Do I Get New Animal Companion (Get Rid of Old One)

I've searched high and low and have no clue how to get rid of my current animal companion. I ended up with a "chicken" (strider) and want to get a wolf or something. Please help! This is frustrating.

Obviously you didn't search the forum though. This question has been answered over and over again.
You talk to the Tamer NPC. In pre-searing Ascalon he can be found just next to Master Ranger Nente. In post-searing he's just outside the city.

right next to the ranger trainer who gave you charm animal is a animal tamer

he will take it off your hands

I just found out how. There is a guy near the Ranger trainer that will take the animal off your hands.
