I had a very brief 'argument' with some people in local chat one day, very brief consisting of me typing no more than two words of typed text. The argument had to do with the rarity value of Green items. I submitted that Golds were more rare than Greens, and were basically much easier to find. I was told that Greens are more rare because they are 'harder to get' and are only found in one area of the game, obviously, Sorrow's Furnace.
Thinking about it, I agreed that common Golds are quite easy to find, and in fact, with the new chest system, fairly common/easy to aquire. However, Golds that compared to the quality of items in Sorrow's Furnace are NOT easy to aquire. Also, golds of high quality can have the potential to be much better than Sorrow's Furnace greens. And these high quality gold items care be only found in a few places in the game, for example the Underworld or the Fissure of Woe.
Also, for my argument, I possess several green items (something like 7 now). I traded for none of them, finding them all from bosses in Sorrow's Furnace areas instead. Also, I'm confident that if I wanted more, I could easily just farm them back up (I've found at least 3 Bludgeoners alone). However, any golds that I have of similar quality, I've only found 3 in my lifetime, since I have not gone to the Fissure of Woe or the Underworld. These Golds do not even compare to the Golds I have seen on other players that make all greens look second rate.
So, in your opinion...what is the rarity and possibly what is your opinion of the value of Sorrow's Furnace green items?

As far as the value of them; they're as valuable as a person will buy them for. Fortunately, people seem to think some of them are worth a ton even if they have shitty mods. It makes it easy for smart people to make money.

They're the GW equivalent of Notorious/Named monsters in other certain mmos. Prices are probably going to be high for a while :/
