Hi i got a question on the population in this game. I come from WOW and in that game hunters were a dime a dozen, is there a class in this game the same as them? If possible, could you list the most picked classes too?
Thanks

Warrior
Ranger
Necromancer
Elementalist
monk
mesmer

It was Rogues and Paladins on my server.

I think the Rogues held the cup on that issue. Especially since they could be both factions. While there were alot of Paladins for Alliance, Rogues were everywhere!

Roguecraft... ugh

My list goes more like this:

Ranger
Elementalist
Warrior
Monk
Necromancer
Mesmer

I was PvPing today for a few hours, and every few matches or so I fought against a team with 3 rangers. If it wasn't rangers, it was elementalists. Being a mesmer I didn't have such a tough time dispatching of the elementalists, but I'll tell you, those rangers can be pretty nasty.

Monk is the most played. Not as primary, but secondary. W/Mo, E/Mo, R/Mo, etc. I think ~40% of the people I see have Monk as one of their classes. I've actually been in a town with 8 other people, and every single one was Something/Mo.

The closest thing to hunter in GW is Ranger because it can be very good with the bow (kind of like the gun the hunter gets) and it gets pet. If you go for a R/N combo you can get your main pet and then you can spawn pets off of dead mobs.

As for the monk comment:

I wish less people would use a secondary monk prof. What I think GW needs is Primary monks (such as myself), W/Mo's, and any kind of damage dealing combo that DOESN'T have monk in it.

Just my two cents,

Zai nailed it...in fact I just made a W/Mo today (hurray generic combo!).

Yeah, Monks are pretty common. And Zin is very right, primary monks are needed MUCH more than secondary monks. I'm a mesmer/monk, and people expect me to be as effective as a primary monk. There's two problems with that: I can never be as effective as a primary monk, and I don't want to. I'm a mesmer, and I want to....eh, mes. I'm a secondary monk because sometimes the main healer needs a little help.
