Noob needs help with Purple Sword

I picked up an purple axe and when I got back to town I received a posting of what the axe is called and all its abilities. I have no idea if I triggered it or if it's auto. Anyways, I found a purple butterfly sword and when i got back to town nothing happened. How do I find out what this sword can really do for me?

When you identified it, you "unlocked" the modifiers on the axe. This means when you create a custom PvP-only character, those modifiers will be available to you.

It sounds like when you identified the sword, there was no "new" modifier on it that you haven't unlocked yet. OR, it's one of those lame items that has no modifier, just is purple for the heck of it.

No, I'm sorry I did not make that clear - you can use the axe with those qualities with your RP/PvE character.

BUT as an added bonus, if you wish to create a custom PvP player, you can use those modifiers to also create a custom weapon. You will continue to unlock things - skills, runes, modifiers - which your custom PvP character will be able to use ALSO.

The physical object you hold - the rune, the weapon, the modifier, etc - your PvE character can use. If you sell the weapon one day, obviously your PvE character doesn't have it anymore BUT the modifiers on it will still be available for your custom PvP characters.

Anyone else want to step in and simplify my explanation? I feel a bit rambly.

This game has a you work and you gain mindset. When your character travels in the realm and finds powerful weapons and/or skills (runes too). It will be saved on your account, you will ALWAYS have the weapon upgrades, skills or runes. (For your PvP character)

Also:
You will still get to keep and use whatever weapon you found (Duh!!!).
