Which is best for PvP -- PvP Only or RP Toons

Noob question here. What is the best for PvP -- PvP only toons or a RP toon that you have leveled. My main reason for asking is that I would like to create a 4th toon but don't know if it's worth loosing the PvP only character creation ability.

Thanks!

if you play PvP it's not worth it. otherwise go ahead

It depends on how much PvP you play and how big a difference there is between your PvE setup and PvP setup. Also PvP characters do have access to perfect weapons that your PvE toon may not have found. I personally never use my PvE character to play PvP.

i say pve is best for pvping because you have all the skills unlocked (pending you did the quests) so you can mess around with what you want.

there is no limit to changing you're skill points now so you can maximize on playing several different play styles

by playing your pve character in the pve world you are gaining strategies with that character you can take with you into pvp (yes you can use these strategies also with a similar pvp character, but what would be the point since you would be utilizing a player from the same class so why not just do it with your pve).

Weapons are really not that expensive anymore with the implementation of the greens - you could have also grabbed a great weapon from a collector in game.

these are some of the reasons off the top of my head where as pve is better than pve.

the only real reason i can think of to do a pvp character is if you are new and you want to jump right in the action of upper lvl pvping - but then again, i think the lower lvl areanas are just as much fun if not more...

PvP character is best always. you can ahve 3 perfet character but you ALWAYS want a open spot to create a character. you have every skill unlocked you can create new characters that your group needs

If you want to PvP with any amount of seriousness, you need a PvP character slot. Builds change far too frequently, and unless you want to have class inflexibility and PvE guys with piles and piles of perfect equipment to swap in as needed, you're better off with the PvP slot.

A PvE character is potentially better than a PvP character for a specific build - they have access to equipment that PvP characters can't get. You also have the option of switching weapons or armor mid-fight, while a PvP character is rather limited there. Still the utility of that is pretty marginal, especially compared to what you give up when you don't have a PvP character slot.

You could always swap your PvE found weapons onto your PvP character (assuming it's not customized). Just remember to take it off before you delete him. ^_^
