People of Tyria, please help me and post what you think would be a good future Hero/Heroine for the next chapter of Guild Wars. Post your ideal Class type and a couple of skills he/she might wanna have!

To get things rolling:

I would like to have a "Samurai" type/class. Their armor will not be as high as a Warrior's armor but not as low as a Ranger's againts physical damage. Their attack speed isn't as fast as a Warrior's (when holding a sword) BUT deals more damage and the "attack style" is more graceful like. (booyaa!)

Weapon of a Samurai:
Their primary weapon should be a samurai sword (duh!) and this sword should be a two handed weapon. The samurai sword's damage must range from 16-29 per hit and this kind of sword should cause more critical damage. Why? Because its a samurai sword! Hell it can cut any other swords out there!! LOL --- I chose this to be a two handed weapon because a Samurai wielding a samurai sword would look very stupid if they're holding a shield on the other hand. I mean, seariously, have you ever seen a Samurai fighting with a shield on his other hand in any movie???

Skills:
1. Slice n' Dice! (lol this name can also be replaced) - (Samurai primary) a quick 4 hit attack that deals + 5-10 damage. This also cause bleeding for 8-16 seconds. Energy cost - 5. Cast time (right away). Recast time (5 seconds)

F---!! I g2g!! I'l add some more on Monday. Meanwhile, hope you guys share your thoughts about this. Who knows, maybe ANET will get to read this.

The Samurai are actually warrriors, I think its better to have Samurai armors and weapons for the tanks out there.

I agree with Sai, the Samurai ARE warriors. I cant think of any new classes myself. guess i am un-original. but we have a mele class, a bow and arrow ranger, and 3 casters that wre more original then i could ever be.

The only thing I could think of to add would be some kind of unarmed melee fighter. Their "weapons" could be various kinds of gloves/bracers or something like that. I agree that a Samurai class would be completely redundant... just give warriors two-handed swords with higher damage.

Sadly the best idea for a class I've heard to date. Everyone is so stuck on the ninja/samurai asian thing that doesn't fit in anywhere with the theme of the game. There are some problems with bards...such as attacks(all classes have someway of killing their enemies decently) and then the extra music. Especially if you make them a true bard(singing)... dancer would be easier, but its still not great. I do like the idea of a full-team enchanter(aside from the few skills that currently enchant whole team)

Another problem I've noticed with the job classes I see is that they try to explain that they won't have as much armor, so they're not as good of a tank. A Warrior/Samurai would still have a warriors armor, however. They also seem to only know what movies tell them, and think that these asian fighters are somehow so UB3R L33T. Yeah, a "samurai sword" could totally cut through a well forged blade....ok.

But could you imagine a W/Bard

OH MY GOD BEST IDEA EVER IT WOULD BE ABLE TO THROW STUFF... BUT THATS NOT LIKE A RANGER USING A BOW. AND WE WOULD HAVE COOL OUTFITS AND THATS ALL THE MATTERS. AND THEN THEY CAN GO INVISIBLE BECAUSE NINJAS DID THAT IRL RIGHT

The best idea of this thread had to have been from the OP putting it in discussion instead of game suggestions. Brilliant.

I don't know how grown up she'd be by this time, though... Wasn't she like 12 pre-sear?

Samurai warriors also used a bow at range before going into melee.

We are talking about Chapter 2, right? Who said the next chapter had to follow immediately after the events of Chapter 1?

I bet there wil lbe exactly 3 new classes to complement each other without breaking the ballance.
There are actually 2 "triangles": -Warrior-mesmer-necro- and -ele-monk-ranger- playing "stone paper scissors".

What I am actually missing in guild wars is the ability to sumon "turrets" out of nothing (a mixture of minions and spirits), push allys and foes around (into the lava hehehe) and to use cloaking and holograms like the protoss in star Craft.

I think the inspirations line for mesmers should have bard like capablities.
It just seems right because the name of the attribute is "inspiration"
But what can they inspire besides themselves?
They do noting to buff thier team.
Plus Id get mesmers a rapier with some skills and make them the rouge class they almost are.
I dont see anything wrong with rangers getting dual weapons as long as the weapons together do not exceed the damage of a warriors single weapon. There is the problem that dual weapons would make a skill like illusionary weapon too powerful an therefore to manidory to counter and not practical to use (almost the case already).
Maybe give monks some sort of combat cabalities that have something to do with martial arts, but Im not sure how that would work out.
Off the top of my head, Id say the line specialized mostly in redirecting damage, knock downs, and a new condition "stuns". Stuns would be pretty rare induced by interrpting. A stuns effect would cause the skill that was interupted to not begin its recast until the effects of stun are over. Kind of like a diversion that you can remove once its in effect.

Dragon Blow
If it hits, this attack interrupts the target's current action. If that action was a skill, that foe is Stunned for 10-20 seconds.
Cost: 10 | Cast: 1/2 | Recast: 20

Monkey Stance
The next melee skill used to attack you will fail and you will stun your foe for 10-28 secs and monkey stance will end.
Cost: 15 | Cast: - | Recast: 25

Balthazars Palm (elite)
If it hits, this attack interrupts the target's skill. All skills of that attribute are effected by Stun for 2-12 seconds.
Cost: 15 | Cast: 1/2 | Recast: 30

Im not sure these are really good ideas for skills. But its just an example of what the possibilities could be with some monk melee skills.
