Ascension for Dummies

Could somebody please provide suggestions on how to beat my doppleganger with my Monk/Ele. I am going freaking crazy!!!! - Thank you from the bottom of my frustrated heart :/

with any monk primary, bring only divine boon. use it at the start, then use it whenever you need a bit of HP, and the doppleganger won't.

Edit: Ok, scratch that, apparently it got nerfed.

Take off all your healing skills. Use meteor shower, meteor, fire storm.

The trick to the doppleganger is load yourself up with useless skills that the other person can't use... especially fun with summon necros...

i am getting slaughtered by the bow or axe. I cannot run cause then i am not taking any skills away from "it". Blasted doppleganger. Killed it so much easier with my Warrior....

Load up on AoE attacks... you can move out of them when the doppleganger uses them, but s/he will sit there and take a beating. Oh, and do NOT bring any healing skills.

This is what I did on my W/Mo. I loaded up on "Target other ally" skills and just wailed on the mirror until it died.

Take Healing Breeze if you need a heal, since he doesn't use it.

I thank you for the idea of these skills. Meteor then Meteor Shower, then Fire Storm, in that order, not only killed "it", but got me tha bonus....
Hope I did not break any rules by giving it away.... but thank you for the suggestion !!

Hehe, I wonder if the mirror will use a SoC on you when you die? If not, then there's one useless skill to fill a slot!

I beat doppleganger @ lvl11 with my E/Mo using that

as an E, I took fire ball and firestorm. I cast fire storm on him right away and ran out of range as he cast it on me... then I ducked behind a wall for protection and he died.

I took as many useless skills as I could for the first few slots in my skill bar (like pacifism...go ahead, pacify my monk, didn't care). Then the last few slots I brought Balths' Aura, Symbol of Wrath, Zealots Fire, and (if memory serves) mend ailment or something. Just something I could hit a few times for divine favor healing. Put all my points into smite/divine favor.

Done in something like 12 seconds or so...maybe a few longer, but I had just enough time for 3-4 casts and a couple shots with my staff.

Why bother packing your bar with skills that can't be used? You guys know you can leave slots empty, don't you?

I beat my Mo/W's doppleganger with healing breeze, divine boon, sprint, and five empty slots. (Sprint was there just to get me to the doppleganger a little faster. )

In the hopes that the doppel will use them poorly, of course.

I was referring to the talk about taking skills that the doppelganger can't even try to use, like capture signets or "other ally" skills.

Funny way to beat it:
Hammer W/mo
Balthazar's Aura
Devastating Hammer (Elite)
Symbol of Wrath
Heavy Blow
Healing Breeze
Life Attunement
Anything else

Balthazar's Aura, knockdown, Symbol, knockdown (Use healing breeze if you fail to interrupt his Balthazar's Aura and Symbol of Wrath). He'll Life Attune himself, causing him to deal hardly any damage. This is probably the most useless skill for a Doppleganager to have since it only stops him from attacking for 3 seconds and makes his attacks weaker

I was farming him one day becuase I needed 1.1k exp; it takes 10-15 seconds to kill him with this build if you get it off right ^^
