Just wondering...what would it be good for?

Well....

I guess if you used it right it'd be ok. Wilderness survival is all youd want to train up really, and I guess a pet is handy, otherwise it'd all be Warrior Skills.

Well isnt it useful because the pet adds additional melee dmg?>

I'm a Warrior/Ranger myself and it's not bad. It's a rare type build you see. I mainly went ranger for when enemies are running away I can pull out my bow and pick them off. Sometimes I use my bow to pull them in as well. However, I found out that you mainly want to keep it warrior.

* edit *

btw, you can always try it and see if you like it or not. It doesn't take very long to level in this game and it's always fun.

Any class mix is playable.

For W/R you could go bows with marksman skills and whatever warrior stances there are. Basically a ranger with tank armor on. Or melee with beastmastery. Many, many options.

There are no 'viable' builds. They're all good as the game is well balanced. You just have to use different strategies with different combos.

I used an Ele/War and shower the enemy with spells while I'm in the fray and picking them off with melee damage. It isn't a good tank, but usually with the amount of damage you do and a good healer, you can take down an amazing number of enemies at once very quickly.

The War/Ran combo would be good as you can pick enemies off from afar as they're running away or you can pull some out without charging in, then when they get close, pummel them with your warrior tech.
