Hello all/anyone,
I have a question or a bug to report. (I have sent it to GW site.)
The problem is when you switch your pets name there is no way to get rid of it. If you go to the tamer to get rid of the pet, the next pet you get has the same name. It may not be much issue for some but I wish to watch my pet evolve. If you know how to get it back to its original default name please tell.

you can change the name as much as you want.just type in /namepet again.unless you mean if you get a snow wolf then change to a moa bird,and it says that it is a snow wolf then that is a bug.just give it a new name.

i think its /petname "NAME_HERE" , thats what works for me anyhow

No no no, I am talking about at the begining you name your stalker something like "buffalo wings." After awhile you get sick of that stalker take it to the tamer and go on without a pet. At the desert you get lonely for a fury/scaly friend and get a dune lizzard but its name is still "buffalo wings" without you changing it. Thats the problem. I want my new pet to have its default name so once I get it to level 10 or so it changes automaticly to "Playful lizzard" Thats evolving, if you hadn't heard of it.

Such as Playful Stalker --> Hearty Stalker, etc
That is evolving.
As a side note, if you want to make comments that you know nothing about, don't be insulting, you obviously didn't know what he was asking so you really shouldn't have been trying to answer let alone being a dick about it.

besides... ur pet still "evolves" at the certain lvl's... it just won't get it's lil' "Playful" or "Hearty" tag

For the record, /petname and /namepet both work.
Must be some sort of bug. I had a stalker in pre, took her to the tamer after doing Aidan's quest, got a moa. She didn't have the same name as the stalker did, even though I did name the stalker.

eightyfour-onesevenfive - but the problem is you can't tell what evolution path they are on. The only way would be to have them attack something which you know will do x damage to someone with x armor (depends on what level your pet is) and then note how long your pet takes to die...
but apart from that, if you ever change your pets name you will never know what evolution it's on. It also doesn't matter if you change pets as the name will stick - the only way to reset a pets name to it's default name is to delete your Ranger and recreate them and never name your pet...

I made a new Mo/R a while back and am enjoying tremendously playing with this character. She reached level 20 during the Blood and Smoke quest outside Ventari's Refuge, and my original pre-searing Melandru's stalker became a level 20 shortly thereafter. I didn't change its name so that I could see when it acquired the evolutionary prefixes. If I recall correctly, it became "playful" at lvl 10 and "hearty" at 15 or so. However, I've logged about 25 hours since my pet reached lvl 20, and it has yet to become an Elder.
Is there some kind of action I must perform to trigger the change? Is it possible that only ranger primaries can get elder pets? Any kind of expertise in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

October Jade - from everything I've read no-one knows exactly what to do to get their pet to the "Elder" evolution. I've seen preople post saying to use lots of Comfort Animal and Cal of Protection, while others saying never use CoP.. etc. Sorry, I wish I could advise you on this..

i heard ur pet still lvl's after it reaches lvl 20... and once it reaches lvl 25 ( gains enough xp to reach lvl 25 if u could ) it will change to "Elder"
