So, does the divine aura from the collectors edition actually do anything but make you glow?

It's only a visual effect, it doesn't do anything to advantage you in the game. It is not a good reason the buy the CE. The CE should be bought because you have too much money, like Guild Wars that much, want the art book or want the headphones and teamspeak subscription. The Divine Aura is just an extra gift.
No, you can't get it any other way.

Maybe it does a secret thing, that is difficult to see. But I have a little idea about what it does, always when my character die he dont have a death penality, because I have a divine aura.

i can assure you it doesn't do that, seeing though i was up to 57% death penalty earlier :P you dont get penalty until you've left pre-searing

Ha. That's what you get for not being a fanatic like the ones who do have this Aura...

You do realize that the aura affects nothing. To be honest, the only positive thing it does is always win "Rock, Paper, Scissors" [< my kamehameha]. It also looks horrible on the male Mesmer /dance [looks like a celestial lavender tutu or something...].

Yes, there are some diehard video game music fans like myself and anyone else who worships Nobou Uematsu. My friend is an art buff, but just bums my artbook off me when he wants to see it [he honestly didn't care for the aura]. The headset has "Guild Wars" in small white print on each earpiece, not fancy or in color like I expected. However, the Divine Aura, the inconspicuous sign that we cared enough to spend $30 more on this game is what clinched it for the majority of the target audience - not musicians or artists, but gamers.

If you look at it closely, the only reason they bought the Collector's Edition was the Divine Aura.

I needed a headset, so everything else was just "extra" to me.

Personally, I fail to see where the Divine Aura even fits the description.

Is it an item? Not really. Do you equip it? Well... no. Does it "surround" your character? Hmm... Nope. Does this non-existent "item" have a shape and colour destinct to the specific god? Well. If you say a God looks like glowing pink glitter dust, then yeah sure. Traded or given? We have nothing to trade or give (Even if we could), our hands are the only things that glow.

I'm not saying I hate the Divine Aura, and I like it, but I still find it interesting that the Divine Aura itself doesn't fit the description bestowed upon it.

Ok, here's stupid question for the day. I bought the collectors edition, I installed the program, and after fiddling with my router I log in.... and I have nothing as far as a divine aura. My wife also bought the collectors edition (we wanted the headsets and the soundtrack and art books were a nice touch) and her laptop wouldn't accept the CD's, so she downloaded the client, used the code and.... no aura either.

What's up with that?

The aura show only when you do emotes.
